big round of applause to the ESO team for actually putting Sutch in and not forgetting about it. ESO gets a lot of hate for messing up the lore here and there (especially in the basegame) but this is a great move. And i guess it fits the theme of the chapter with the long forgotten deadric prince.

Yeah there's still a few things that are a slap to the face when I play it lore wise, mostly base game stuff. Which... well it's not the first time the series did some big retcons (or just honest mistakes that they later try to roll with) by far. I always get the feeling most people basically started with Morrowind and hold it up as a holy grail that was 'true' even though when most of its lore they like either predated it (In Daggerfall and the games afterwards) or it was really the odd duck out, running contrary to games previous and prior.

@@hitomisalazar4073 To me, Morrowind has always felt like the weird one of the bunch. Arena and Daggerfall follow very traditional 90s fantasy tropes, with clear and direct references to D&D and Lord of the Rings, Oblivion and Skyrim also are extremely traditional and familiar. Morrowind by comparison is the weird one out.

@@mygetawayart Oh definitely. I mean they weren't shy about it either. The manuals literally said "We're trying to make D&D on the Computer which no one has really done well before". Just a weird tendency I noticed for any time Morrowind conflicts with anything else they go "Well Morrowind was right/better..." as default, and it's a mistake/error/plot hole if they don't follow it. Like "Cyrodiil is a jungle because a book in Morrowind said so" even though we went to Cyrodiil in games before that and... no it wasn't.

Puns aside it is a weird phenomenon that a lot of games cut stuff despite being in demos and even promotional ads. Another case I can think of is Zelda Twilight Princess where magic was supposed to be useable by Link as seen in on the very box art on the back of the box but was never in the game. Heck they even have green chu chu’s in the game that restores magic but if you manage to ever get it nothing will show up.

That’s the one thing I like most about ESO is that is spans across the entire continent and not just one province. It allows for more immersion if it makes any sense that you can visit towns on the borders of different provinces and actually travel between the two on foot. Seriously anyone ever feel like it actually try completing say a fighters guild or mages guild daily quest without using fast travel.

Apparently Sutch was supposed to have Cyrodiil's temple of Kynareth in TES IV Oblivion. It's the only Divine that didn't get their own city. (Which is funny seeing how Kynareth is a god of nature, so she didn't really "need" a city and temple, so it kind of worked out! Also, she got the first Skyrim temple you see in TES V in Whiterun.)
