In terms of "overly expensive traps", my favorite idea is just a truly excessive amount of turrets behind a set of doors you control via the app. As in, you press a button and then like 20 turrets start firing on them

A pit fall trap from cliff height into a pit filled with pressure pad flame traps or turrets or, spikes. Put a bag on the top and the bottom so that you can access the bottom tc/spike pit to replace them and drop grenades down the pit. Another idea is an elevator trap with a door closer and a shop front that will take them up to the second level of your base, lock them in, and then force them to sing for you before you open up a door with a flame turret or an auto turret.

I have another costly one for you.... raid trap .. people raid into base once so deep door closes and heartbeat sensor blows a wall with a hidden turret that turns on once blown... put a half floor put turret on bottom or the top set up with heart beat to turn on once wall is blown, put wall in front of it toss c4 either top or bottom of wall opposite of where you put the turret then rotate the wall.. you can figure out the rest

trap idea. "the maze". kinda similar to a video you did a few weeks ago, where you had an obstacle course, and similar to a game i saw in "takeshi's castle". you have a grid of rooms, a 4x4 or 5x5. you have to make it from the start, to the end (which can be any room) by opening doors, and progressing through different rooms. each with traps, or trolls. you also, dont "have" to make it winnable if you dont want to. itll be a little annoying to make, as its a large base, but on something like a 5x etc, itll be easy. snaptraps, mines, shotgun traps, tesla coils, pressure plates and sentry turrets throughout the whole base. its also annoying to raid, because your tc could realistically be in any of the 25 rooms in a 5x5. if you make it 2 walls high and dont cover the floors, you can also have a "viewing pit" to look down on them and watch them in 4k, birdseye, get annihilated by a fuck ton of mines. something tells me, this might peak your interest. also, its a OG style trap base, or a game you can advertise, whichever you prefer, to draw in more people that are sharing brain cells

or. squid games. make a base, thats a series of 2x2's. one room thats a 1x2, 2 rooms that are 1x1 each. the 2x1 is the start, and all it does is give you options to 2 doors, left or right (the 1x1's). one door kills, one doesnt. you have to succesfully guess right like 4 or 5 times in a row to win. you can easily make this with just shotgun traps, and just build a corridor on the side with windows, so you can see their choices, and untimely deaths, and follow their progress through the game. it also means if anyone tried to "dodge" their fate, you can put the world right, with a nicely placed grenade. each door, can have pressure plates to close the door behind them too. exactly like the glass part of squid games. choose left or right, blind luck. die if you fail. you can also move around your traps if any people start having multiple tries. like 5 shotgun traps, a bunch of stone n wood, and then like 15 doors n plates. again, i wouldnt recommend it on vanilla, but like 3x is easy.

You can do something very similar to this with satchel and even bean can grenade. Use a water pistol to extinguish them after they are lit and use the motion sensor to trigger an igniter instead of broadcasting on RF with the C4. The super cheap version bean can grenade requires your uhh guest to come around before it despawns off the ground from wherever it was thrown. You might want to use different bait than window shutter because you will also need to hide an igniter where it can reach the ordinance but that should be no issue for Rust trap aficionados.

You can make it a timed explosive to detonate when it gets sent the correct signal number. Which is linked to give out the signal when the heart beat sensor on the roof is triggered.
