You did a good paint job on that truck! Was that done with a Single Stage basecoat/clearcoat auto paint, all together in one coat? If so, how were you able to avoid tigerstrpes in your paint? I have heard some say using a slow acting reducer helps to bring out a even finish in metallic paint jobs. How is that paint brand holding up now, after all this time?
@CCAutoWorks Жыл бұрын
It's single stage urethane from summit Racing I shoot a little faster to flow and blend the metallic I let my little brother spary the top and hood he went slower then I do and it got just a hint of tiger stripes
@Slim1423 Жыл бұрын
@@CCAutoWorks Ok. It looks good though. I have heard urethane paint is very poisonous, and using your respirator is a must to protect your health. However, urethane paint i hear is very durable and cures faster than most other types of auto paint. Have you ever used water borne auto paint? I heard of it some years ago. Is water borne auto paint long lasting and durable?
@CCAutoWorks Жыл бұрын
@@Slim1423 yes a respirator is definitely a must my first ever paint job I didn't use one and it almost killed me I've never tried the water base auto paint however I paint farm equipment and we use a water base paint and it isn't to good it fades fast and peels easy
@Slim1423 Жыл бұрын
@@CCAutoWorks ok. I have heard of people almost passing out from just mixing urethane paint in the can, without a mask. I am glad you told me about the water base paint, will definitely avoid that type. I use to like acrylic enamel paint, but that probably isn't around anymore.

@CCAutoWorks3 жыл бұрын
This was just single stage but I've done what your talking about before I call it thinner pop it's the base coat trying to finish drying through the top coat
@jtirado21363 жыл бұрын
It's called solvent pop. You didn't wait long enough in between coats. You're trapping solvent in the bottom layers and it creates small pinholes in the topcoat when it tries to evaporate
