Lyrics:
Annihilate, accelerate, surge into cold pristine state
Invisible radiation, everlasting desecration
Profane sun, pervading light, splendor burst to virgin dust
Revelation, restitution, a riven covenant
Arise nocturnal star, into the void of eternal light
From brume into renascence, emergent evolution
Perennial aeonic divine eclipse
Arise - light of shining bliss
Divine - night in cosmic abyss
Devastate, discreate, putrefied and liquefied
Separation, isolation, final dissolution
Celestial spheres, a pallid flame, repulsive procreation
Manifestation, adumbration, luminous in radiance
Arise celestial bliss, into the void of divine essence
As a swarm into renascence, emergent evolution
Concentric primordial subsistence reborn
Arise - light of shining bliss
Divine - night in cosmic abyss
Recreate, generate, turning into supreme black light
Ethereal abomination, artificial entity
Profane sun, pervading light, splendor burst to virgin dust
Revelation, restitution a riven covenant - arise

Germany’s progressive death metal masters OBSCURA complete their long-running, four-album conceptual circle with the release of Diluvium (defined as a great oceanic flood), their most evocative, diverse and vibrant release to date. Recorded with longtime producer V. Santura (Triptykon, Pestilence) at Woodshed Studios in Landshut, Germany, Diluvium is a stunning achievement for the illustrious quartet and a landmark release for progressive metal as a whole. Complete with all the band's signature elements plus groundbreaking polyrhythms, dramatic songwriting, and jaw-dropping virtuosity, OBSCURA raise the bar once again with an album that will go down in the annals of metal history as one of the most astonishing performances the genre has to offer.

I can mostly hear Death (Steffen is Chuck direct descendant), Cynic, Gorguts, Atheist, Necrophagist... also a bit of Dissection (we all know Steffen love swedish melodic blach-death metal) and 90s swedish melodic death metal like the first In Flames or At The Gates in the palm mute riffing. But most important, i can 10000% hear this Obscura, with their own sound. Their are fucking amazing. Not underatted, of course, a lot of people know they are amazing, but dude, Cosmogenesis is now 10 years old, and with that longevity, I can truely say that Steffen is now a Guitar Death metal legend, amongs the Trey Azagthoth, Chuck Schuldiner, Muhammed Suiçmez, Erik Rutan, Paul Masvidal, etc. Greeting from France !

Damn, am I the only one for whom this whole album sounds nostalgic in some way? I mean, chord progressions and these half-solos (like here: 1:17) sound like something from music that was around me in my childhood. I'm curious whether it was done intentionally.
@Krimson5pride
@Krimson5pride 4 жыл бұрын
It is probably cause a band called Cynic has extensively done this. If you don't know, Cynic is an old band that is known for drawing metal towards progressive scene. If you need to get started, check their track Evolutionary Sleeper from their second album, and things will become apparent to you. Fun Fact : half of the members of cynic were once actively involved with Death, the father of death metal scene.
@BORN753
@BORN753 4 жыл бұрын
@@Krimson5pride Yeah, I love Cynic's first album and Death's last 3-4 albums. But apperently I was born in '98 in Ukraine, so I think it's 100% I've never heard Cynic's music in my childhood. Actually, "half-solos" remind me of my country's pop-music for some reason. And I really don't know why I think chord progressions sound nostalgic to me, still after 8 month when I first felt it. I think it's really hard to identify.
