Imho, while this is some pristine playing and songwriting, the mix is an absolute disgrace. The guitars should be turned up a good notch, you can't really make out all this intricate playing in this mix. Obscura isn't only fretlass bass imo.

Are you being sure to listen with good speakers and connection quality? Because as a fellow guitar player (not even close to his skill) I think this playthrough sounds so much more emotional than the studio version, guitar wise

Don't worry, my studio monitors are equalized perfectly, I still think the guitars aren't as dominant as they should be, especially considering the fact this is a guitar playthrough so it's clear where the audial focus should be.

I don't mind fake playthroughs, music is not a meritocracy and playthrough videos are supposed to be educational, not impressive.

He was endorsed by ESP right before Diluvium came out. He was using an Eclipse model in Thulcandra for years and decided to make the switch to ESP. He may still play his RAN live, but I'm not sure.
