Obscurio Review - The Broken Meeple

Like you, i also own all 5 games. I love these type of games too. We actually have one of our gamers who doesn't like the traitor aspect. So I'm happy to have the variety, thank you! I too had some other gamers say that they replaced Obscurio over Mysterium.

Strange, i know of 2 german reviewers, that hate on the game because it is practically impossible to lose the game as the good guys and no way to win as the traitor. I dislike Mysterium because i literally never lost the game. It offers no challenge at all. Now i hear mixed reviews about Obscurio. My problem is, i like games like this, but if i know i will win, it's not worth my time. Does it depend on player numbers?

I think in this case definitely. Playing with few players usually makes it harder for the traitor to hide in the pack. With more, you have to be careful. I can't see how people are finding this too easy though unless they aren't playing trap tokens right or the traitor is playing subpar, especially when you have 3 levels of difficulty. I wonder if they even tried Hard mode. Mysterium I agree is easy hence I always play that game in hard mode.

@@TheBrokenMeeple according to those reviewers, the hints were so obvious, that there was no challenge finding the right doors.

I played like 10 times and the traitor won 6 or 7. With +5 people it’s definitely difficult enough.

@@PK-cg5jo Agreed. I honestly believe the Germans got something wrong, or their traitor really wasn't playing right or they simply played with 2-4 players all the time. On Easy it's hard enough, but I don't believe for a second they played on Medium or even Hard difficulty.
