I buy all sorts of minis for D&D, but I love the Wyrd minis the most, cause of how unique so many of them are.

Okay wow I love that set. So weird, so random, and oh so fiddley, but 100% love each one of those models. They won't travel well but those lamp lighters will be so much fun to paint.

I am so far out of the loop on Malifaux these days, never even heard of any of these. Third edition has just left me in the dust. I see their sculpts haven't changed much - still crazy imaginative oddball designs, still full of insanely fragile bits just waiting to break, and still hard to store and transport. This lot looks a little less fiddly to assemble than the stuff I've done, although only a little. Think I like Sophie best for the sheer novelty of the figure, but Mikhail is clearly the most practical mini for actual use on the table. The parasol reminds me that I've still got the Widow Weaver sitting in a box waiting for paint.

If there's one thing Malifaux has in spades, it's unique style. That can't ever be denied. There's certainly worse I've built too- certain gremlins and goryo spring to mind, but the tall skinny lamplighter guy was a pain nonetheless.

Malifaux: Fiddly Edition has nice sculpts, but yeah the bits are either dropped onto a rug that matches the color of the plastic and takes a few minutes from putting them together.

You might want to try Tamiya Extra Thin Cement or if you can find it at a hobby shop Testors Model Master Liquid Cement for Plastic Models. They are easier to use than the old orange tube cement. Another one you might want to try is Testors Liquid Cement for Plastic.

Plastruct Bondene's the way to go for thin plastic solvent glues. Works on ABS plastics as well as styrene, unlike their similar styrene-only Weldene.

I used to have the Taimya stuff. It comes in a clear bottle with a brush applicator, right? I liked that. Just not the same without those nostalgic toxic fumes from the Testors tubes. The bigger problem is the size of my fingers versus the size of these parts and the two having to learn to work together.

To carry them you get metal box and put magnets under the bases. Easy.

Yeah, I think that's the only way some of these newer, more delicate models (or most 'Faux models in general) have to be transported.

Great video as always. Why does Wyrd sculpt their models in such a way that they overlap the lips of the bases (I am looking at you Mikhail) :)

They're trying to give Privateer some competition in the overhang department!

I've been putting together some Malifaux models and it got me wondering... Is there some kind of contest among the model companies to see who can put the most ridiculously tiny parts in one kit? Or is this just the Wyrd "signature"?

At this point I feel it's part of the game. I know some of those new faction starter sets skipped the typical buildable figures and went with single piece pvc figures like Through The Breach.

It'd take a bit of work to remove the parts that are attached to her body but I think it's doable.

About two years ago I sent them a suggestion to rename the company to frustrating miniatures.

The first few 3E core boxes were relatively straightforward builds too. This set is more of a return to form.
