What’s happening in this Obsessed movie clip?
Derek is at the hospital with Sharon when Detective Reese (Christine Lahti from Swing Shift and Housekeeping) walks up and asks to talk to Derek. The detective is asking questions and Sharon is asking questions and Derek looks constipated. When the detective asks why Lisa tried to overdose in Derek's bed, Sharon comes unglued. Derek is trying to calm her down and the detective keeps asking one loaded question after another. Derek tries to tell her that Lisa is crazy, but this falls on deaf ears. Lisa even gave Derek as her emergency contact. Sharon has heard enough and walks away with Derek following her.

What’s the Obsessed movie about?
Derek Charles (Idris Elba from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and Beasts of No Nation) moves to a new neighborhood in Los Angeles with his wife Sharon (Beyoncé from Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records) and their young son Kyle. A financial executive just promoted to vice president of his company, he leads an ideal life, both in his career and in the relationship he forms with the beautiful Sharon. One day, Derek meets a new temp at the office: Lisa (Ali Larter from A Lot Like Love), an attractive, easy-going and always cheerful woman. Lisa is the perfect co-worker. Suddenly, at the company Christmas party, Lisa throws herself at him and tries to sleep with Derek, who firmly rejects her. The next day, she tries again. Lisa does not accept refusal and her madness grows with each new rejection. Soon, Derek starts to worry about the distance that Lisa seems to be ready to cross. Nothing seems to be able to stop the young woman, who is convinced that she is having a romance with her boss. Not only she threatens his career, but also his marriage and his life. Trapped, Derek has only few solutions: he is convinced that nobody will believe his story and that he will always appear as the guilty party in this dark and sad case...

I know this is a movie but the idea that a women was crazy enough to fantasize a relationship with a man she doesn't know and then attempt suicide after he rejects her is pretty believable. Perhaps this was before we were enlightened enough to consider women to be predators, but what he should have told the police is that she sexually assaulted him in the bathroom, which she did, and then continued to harass him and pose as his wife at the conference.

I believe Derek actually did try to tell Sharon immediately after coming back from the Christmas party but Sharon at the time had just gotten off the phone with her sister saying her(the sister’s)husband was caught having an affair with someone from his place of work. You can understand how if Derek tried to tell Sharon practically the exact same scenario from his perspective, it would be horrendous timing.
