There’s still people out there who call him the abusive one because he defended himself against abuse from his wife. I’m aware that there are horrible double standards for men in regards to their experience with sexual assault, abuse, harassment, mental illness, body standards, and much more. It’s sickening. I just wanted to point out that many women understand this and the right ones aren’t going to exclude men from speaking out against the sexual violence that they can endure too. There’s male celebrities who also came forward with stories of abuse at the height of the Me Too movement such as Terry Crews, Anthony Rapp, James Van Der Beek, Brendan Fraser, Alex Winter, Michael Gaston, and Johnathon Schaech. I personally know how hard it is to come forward about something like that and how hard it is to feel heard and believed, so I can only imagine how much worse it can be for men when they feel like no one wants to address the reality of it in the first place. In my opinion there should always be room for male survivors in any female dominated platform, so don’t let any misandrist naysayers skew your opinion. Sexual assault hurts everyone affected by it. We should be unified in speaking out against it. Sorry for the long reply, I just feel very strongly about this 😅
