I read somewhere that they originally wanted Zanna to spend the whole show on roller skates so the line at the end of the show when someone says "Zanna, don't" would be a joke on the movie (at the time it wasn't a musical) Xanadu. I have sort of always made the association, but I think it would have been even funnier in the context of the show!

I did not know that, and it's funny because I keep thinking that if I were a director of Zanna Don't (or play Zanna and try to coerce the director and costumer) I'd put Zanna in skates. The entire show.
