Not gonna lie, I've never been a fan of this type of music myself. However, the way this video was crafted, I really enjoyed it and found myself really vibing when Alec was on the sax. Well done Andrew, that was beautifully put together!

This video really hit home for me. I am also a dedicated jazz musician and boulderer. Always thought I was in a very niche group. I'm glad there is someone out there similar to me.

Came for the climbing, stayed for the quality of your videos (climbing and non-climbing related). Really nice stories man, good job

very good to see that some climbers are not just the moves and routes and are something else of artistic outside the world of climbing! Would love to see more stories of climbers that are also dedicated artists being it, dancing, painting, music or any type of art.

great video and cool perspective, I also studied jazz at a university level and it's really interesting seeing Alec's thoughts on climbing and music and how/if they can work together!

Great video! Since I am as well a musician, passionate about climbing, I always come back to asking myself if both worlds are compatible and to hear someone else say this very words was quite a moving thing! Thank you for that! Always wanted to say that this channel is growing into quite an amazing space! Not only do you keep improving your cinematic skills but the content keeps getting better, more diverse, open minded and deeply smart! Thank you for all the great work!

I see a lot of myself in this! I graduated from a Jazz Degree in 2019 and in past few years gone mad for climbing too. Inspiring to see this balance has worked out for someone

So incredible to see the level of cinematography and storytelling evolve since the start of your channel. Keep it up Andrew, sooner or later your channel will explode! Might just need to find a more mainstream youtuber to collaborate with to increase your views, cause that seems to be the best way for people to discover fantastic new channels. Gets you more money, and us more content (win:win)!

Never thought I'd see Tritone substitution and climbing cross paths haha. I also had the same concerns about destroying my fingers and being able to play as well as i'd like. Though similarly the longer I climb, the easier it gets to balance the two. Despite my obvious bias, this is a great video Andrew.

Awesome work - it's been so good to watch your progression as a climber / film maker, thank you for sharing it. I love how the documentary work has moved on - you're in them less and less as a character but more and more as a director, very cool.

I really needed this thank you so much. Been wondering if there was someone in the same position for about a year now, yet alone someone who’s actually doing well managing them both. I’m still where Alec described being when he didn’t know if he could both. Thank you so much guys.

I’ve learnt that these things shift around also! At the moment I’m feeling a pull towards music and saxophone and am less motivated to climb, it’s been the other way before. Understanding this is just life helps me get on with it and not be too bothered. Good luck to you Charlie.

I think anyone who discovers something for themselves later in life will defenately be so very slightly be obsesed with it, I kind of rediscovered climbing with the age of 35, 2 years in i'm planning my holidays around it, and trying to hit goals that I would have been proud of at 25. My missus now says the only thing she has worry about taking my attention is not another woman but a piece of rock.
