Can everything be purchased through the publisher's official site or did I miss the premium components boat with the Kickstarter?

Virtually all of the Deluxe Kickstarter editions complete with stretch goals and extras, are directly sold at retail. If you want to play Obsession, of course you want the premium experience, and the publisher properly understands this. The exception is the Useful Boxes, and I will leave you to traipse down the rabbit hole of exactly why that is unavailable, at your own leisure.

I never produce Kickstarter exclusives. Kickstarter backers get two benefits: 1) Discounts off of MSRP, and 2) They receive the game first. All my retail product is identical to the Kickstarter.

He is counting both guests. The socialite increases the required guests for the Long Gallery from 4 to 6, and the antisocialite decreases the guest count down to 5. If the antisocialite attended by himself, it would indeed go from 4 to 3.

Does the entire expansion work for solo play?

Yes, Characters does. That is why it is referenced on the solo cards. The cooperative components do not. You do have to remove some objectives.
