Why is Clive Pagett not a Sir Clive? He just seems like one of the best gentlemen ever created.

Thanks. If you read this in your busy schedule!?!?. When i went to this track while working locally my transport was a VFR750 about 15 years ago. At that time the left hander just after the start was very bumpy and not in great condition and thus plenty of bikes were left on the floor.

We used to go to Scarborough many years ago to Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) Farmyard rally at Foxholes, and on the Saturday the charity ride would always start on Oliver’s Mount!

Hey Dave, I’m currently restoring two ZXR750s, an L1 and an L2. One is going to be all original and one will be a track bike for classic racing. Would love to see a video with an in depth look at your 750s ! Cheers.

Enjoyable as ever. Looking forward to the Mexico video, who is going to win the unofficial race within a race for the Obsession Cup between you and Eric, that's the burning question.

Fascinating and as informative as ever Simon. As a bike racing fan this kind of content is great. But... As we/they keep shortening ( as in all top level motorsport) the braking area the racing suffers. Any thoughts as to what can encompass progress and the opportunity to overtake too?
@obsession_engineering2 жыл бұрын
I think the level of competition keeps getting stronger and that makes the gaps tighter, sometimes it makes for close, exciting racing, other times it can be a procession. I just need to get better at passing

And the slippery surface at Olivers Mount is nothing to do with the recent closure, riders started complaining about this a number of years ago. It's another nail in the coffin for the circuit if people are being charged BSB prices to get in then riders either go home or sit out races the moment there is any dampness - which is regular at Scarborough. I can't see the owners or organisers having the money to resurface. Riders themselves will stop putting entries in if the chances of a ruined weekend are high and go elsewhere. Probably one of the reasons why so many top riders have drifted away already, and even the lower orders too as witness by the number of new faces filling the grid, many of whom - not being disrespectful- simply wouldn't have got an entry at one time.

A very good point. We need to get the locals driving around it more! The sap and green off the trees has always been the main cause of the low grip, especially when damp. The newer bits of tarmac will get better with time and use. If it'd been early in the weekend most people would have raced, but towards the end of the races it's much easier to sit it out.

Would love to see at least bits and pieces of your race. I keep wanting to like your vids on the youtube, but I can't seem to move my mouse towards the thumb up without actually seeing you or your compatriots taking a go at the course. I'll convince myself to stay subbed and hope against all odds that you remember to turn on the go pro before the starting gun. Otherwise your vids are are quite excellent. Thank you.

Open question for Dave, do you think those lads who were blocking you were out of order or not keeping to racing etiquette, or is it all fair enough racing craft or something? No opinion from me, just wondering how you racers view it.
@obsession_engineering2 жыл бұрын
Totally fair racing, they're using the lines and braking strengths to hold positions. It's just a bit annoying when I know I could go faster. But racing isn't supposed to be easy
