Part 3 of Dave's TT 2022 Diary, with practice in full swing Dave shows you the day to day prep, the bike porn at scrutineering and then heads out for some laps on the BMW and RS660. He evens cracks a can of Kibosh!
Wednesday evening is filled with the highs of riding the TT mountain course, and then the crushing lows of a tragic incident that claimed the life of Mark Purslow, may he ride fast forever.
The diary is a few days behind due to the time needed to edit whilst trying to prep bikes!
Due to copyright restrictions we can't record on bike footage :(

So difficult Dave…..I’ve lived next to this course my whole life, watched all but 2 TTs in my 53 years…..it’s always hits us hard, but we all know it’s what you guys want to do…..and we can’t stop you, that would be just so wrong, you live this life the way you see fit, and you are achieving life goals that most people will never understand………….👍🇮🇲💖

Excellent stuff Dave, losing Mark was very difficult and now we’ve lost Olivier Lavorel and unbelievably Davey Morgan, just very hard to take, I know now that there will be folk wanting the TT to be stopped but we all know the risks involved. Great tribute to Mark great tribute to the TT and the Island Dave. Anyone who rides this race is an absolute hero in my mind. RIP to them all. 🙏

I sit here with tears in my eyes. I feel the swing from pure joy while on track at speed and then the crushing heart break when you see a fellow racer down and know it's bad. Like many who had the honor to race on 2 wheels but have lost a friend, fellow racer or even just a member of your races for the day. It's a swing of emotions most people will never feel outside the racing world. Racing is truly the best drug in the world. But with such tremendous highs. tremendous lows also follow at times. Stay safe, thanks for the video.

Great video nice to get the perspective of a rider when they see a man down on a lap seeing another sports man crashed emotions must go crazy but on the flip side knowing the person involved was doing what he loved to do must give is self some comfort watched Dunlop film and he said the sport can be cruel but riding motorcycles is what we love respect to any man who rides the tt I ride bikes and know it takes some balls let alone going flat out on bike with adverage speeds of 120mph takes some real balls over 37.5milez

Great Dave, but what's the point is spending needless amounts of money on carbon parts, to get the weight down, then find out the bike is 5kg under the permitted weigh allowed...& then having to strap 5kg of weights to it? I'm a pro team mechanic in another sport with weight limits & we build to the weight allowed, not go under it, to then add weight.
@obsession_engineering
@obsession_engineering 2 жыл бұрын
Luckily for us we worked with Jolly's Carbon so cost wasn't an issue. We didn't expect to be quite that far under weight if I'm honest, the stock bike is pretty light. There was a plan to move weight around if we needed to fix any handling issues but it works well so we took the easiest place to put it
