As a recent subscriber I have really enjoyed your infectious enthusiasm and love for motorbikes, racing and the TT in particular. The raw honesty you have shown throughout and especially in this video is admirable beyond words. I wish you and your friends and associates all the best and look forward to you taking us on whatever adventures you undertake in the future. The character you have shown in racing the TT, and in deciding NOT to race the TT anymore, are exactly why mere mortals like myself avidly follow the deeds of road racers like yourself. A breed apart.

In whatever you do, learn to 'Know yourself.' As a human being you challenge your self but In life it is not always what you do for yourself that really counts it is what you do and give to other other human beings, rare qualities. By doing your videos and Racing you have done both. Honesty and true emotion are qualities we can all learn from. Your enthusiasm for your sport is compelling healthy and infectious. Thankyou for the video diaries they have been really great . I hope you continue to do many more videos /journalistic things in the future. Best regards😎

Hi Dave, I have never met you, but feel as if I'm your friend having got to know you so well over the years. I was lucky enough to realise my lifetime ambition to race the mountain course, which I did twice, so I know as well as anyone everything that you are saying. I think the decision to stop must the right one for you and no one else. I'm involved in helping others along their two wheeled racing, and the one thing I often say is that the time you stop enjoying it, is the time to stop. I hope one day to be able to meet you and say 'hi'. Really looking forward to watching your adventures and enjoying your bike building exploits. Much appreciation and respect David for your raw honesty and emotion. You encapsulate what I’ve always felt it meant to be a TT racer. I found your channel around NW200 in the lead up to ticking the TT off my bucket list. Each day my mates and I would be watching for Dave’s distinctive orange S1000RR. It was a great fortnight, just a pity the beast couldn’t have spared Raul and it would have been perfect, but then that’s the nature of the beast, and why men come back every year to conquer it. Much respect mate and looking forward to what you have in store for us on your channel next. 👍🏼

Total respect Dave. I used to ride on the road, (not racing, I’ve neither the minerals or talent for that) but I always knew that if anything serious happened to me or my riding friends, that would be the end for me. Unfortunately it was me that had the incident but even while I was being scooped off the road by the paramedics with a shattered leg, I had total clarity of thought and I knew I was done. 6 years down the line and health fully restored, I haven’t regretted my decision for a second.

Thank you for sharing this with us Dave. Very powerful. I went in 2015 and loved it. Nothing prepares you for the speed. I was relieved to leave with no deaths when I was there. Watched last year on TV which was great but overshadowed by numerous fatalities. You have demonstrated supreme courage to race around there. I believe you have demonstrated the same amount of courage to call it a day. Your channel is awesome. Thanks to everyone who has written some wonderful heart felt comments.

Dave, your courage is remarkable. Coming back from last year's somber Senior race after your mate passed and posting your best finish is an incredible achievement on its own. Your enthusiasm for this event has inspired me to follow it closer than before. I was saddened to hear about Raul, having just watched him in the series "No Room For Error.". Then watching this video, after your first race, Raul was right there and walked by you. It really hit home on how fleeting this life is. My sympathies for Raul, his family, and the TT family. Kudos to you to know when it's time, and respect from across the pond.

A true reflection of the highs and lows, massive respect for finishing the lap and calling time on your TT racing. I noted how disciplined you are at sticking to your markers, lap 2 RST Superbike 18:44.863 lap 4 18:44.194. Less than 7/10ths over a full TT lap is slightly OCD. Can you draw perfect circles free-hand? I've discounted that you're a robot as you like cake. RIP Raul

Well Done Big Man. Hope to meet you one day and thank you for all the enthusiasm you project in your videos. I remember that exact same feeling when I stopped; racing motorbikes (especially on the roads), we have to "deal" with lots of bad stuff, but only once you run out of pigeon holes to shut that bad stuff away, do you really know when the right time is to stop. You're stuff is a million times better than TT+👍🏻🍀🇮🇲

Very moving piece to camera Dave. It looks like you are happy to have made the decision, despite as you say you are going to miss it terribly, and therefore it must be the right one. It's also good that you finished on a high, riding and position wise, even though the circumstances of your last race were very sad. All these TT vlogs, this and last year have been a mixture of fun, sad moments and exhilarating highs and I think you capture the whole experience so well. Looking forward to following the rest of Franco's season and if you are going, the Mexico races later in the year perhaps too. Either way I thoroughly enjoy the channel whatever the content.
