first I thought what a bs idea… just train and get fit so you won’t need it… but then I thought of my dad who loves the outdoors but, bc of a long covid caused heart condition, is no longer able to hike anything uphill anymore… this innovation looks promising to give people like my dad hope to get back what used to be a major part of his life ❤

Even at that price, I would happily buy one for my elderly father if it allowed him to remain mobile and active. And by the time I'll need them myself the technology would have further matured. I'm so happy and hopeful knowing this is coming.

I am 35, and after COVID my kees have gone really really bad, i could run, and sprint pre-COVID, but post-covid I can't even stand too long... This device really gives me some hope!! I request please make it available globally. ♥from India.

I used to be an avid cross-country runner; the more difficult the terrain, the better. Then I got MS. Now there's considerable neurological problems with my left knee, severely limiting my mobility. This is exactly the type of technology I need to help me get out of the house.

It can't be just me that wonders if this will help a fit person be able to carry a larger load over longer distances.

Would that be useful for people with Parkinson or it’s out of the target (technically speaking)??

My sister (Previously very active person) has a degenerative knee condition that will eventually require her to have her leg amputated (above the knee). She still wants to be active while she has her leg but she cannot put much weight on her knee for extended periods of time so I am very excites to see if this product could help her. Looking forward to its release.
@chritical_ep2 ай бұрын
I don't think it would take weight off of her knee as it doesn't seem to be that kind of support, but it would mean that moving takes less effort, which could still help

I'd take one minus the pants. I understand because it's dead bird they wanted to have some tech fabric clothing attached to it but honestly I''d prefer just the mobility assist that can work with all my other dead bird, etc pants.

Is there a video about the product instead of the development?

When I first saw this being promoted I thought it was a joke. But it appears that it's real. If it was designed for people with disabilities I'd be all in. They need help. But if it's designed for the able-bodied...shove it. Arc'teryx has jumped the shark. What used to be a solid brand for people who really got out there, and wanted to spend the money on good gear, is a completely different animal today. Outdoors people turned their back on The North Face and they are with Arc' too. This shit shows it's a wise decision.

An outdoor company looking to make outdoors more accessible for more people is a bad thing? If anything, this will bring more people to the brand. I know I was an avid hiker out in BC a few years ago, but my knees now (torn ACL in both) make it very hard to get back to where I was. Something like this can help support me when needed, but they even made it so that it can be removed which is amazing. So you use it when you really need it. I can see this help a lot of people in just day to day life honestly. I think you are just one of those snobs that don't like how big and common place this company became. You like to think you are in your own little private expensive club, but with other commoners now wearing your gear, you don't feel special.

The whole point of this is designed for people with movement disabilities lol. Normal people don't need a movement assist for their knees. Did you not notice every tester in the video is like over 60 lol
@teejay32722 ай бұрын
@@-Meric- Dude. It was one woman who was older. And she wasn't that old. Maybe you don't know what disability means. Knowing Arc'teryx I guarantee that you'll see a young hiker with these. But I'll be a bazillon and four dollars that you own Hoka, right? Hike once every couple of months? Yeah. I think I'm right because I'm not getting a sense that you're seeing the bigger picture.
@-Meric-2 ай бұрын
@teejay3272 This isn't an arcrteryx product. It's a Skip project which was formerly a Moonshot (X) project. Arc just makes the pants. Arcreryx didn't suddenly become a robotics and machine learning company
@teejay32722 ай бұрын
@@-Meric- Yeah. I read the copy. Teamed up with Skip. How how can we help more people go farther. It also said, "Deep in the Arc'teryx Design Center sits the advanced concepts team." This was around their work. It's a partnership. That's how a lot of business is done. Similar to TNF partnering with Gucci. The point is they're turning away from making gear for it's intended use. It's becoming a fashion brand and whatever the hell this nonsense is. And that's fine. It's their call. But I'm done. There's better or as good options out there at a lesser price point. I use gear, and beat it up, so I'll get a better bang for my buck elsewhere. And I'm not the only person who's turned away from them. Means nothing to them. They're working the working the urban market now. That's not me.
