Well said. The Kickstarter backers get it for $500. Late comers will have to pay $1000. I still think it is fairly priced for what it can do. My primary modes of transportation are walking, driving, and light rail. If I can walk double the distance in a single day on my urban hikes, it will be worth it. I usually power walk 10 miles in a single day at 4.5 mph speed, but I would love to travel 20 miles at something like 5.5 mph speed in a single day.

Is there an automatic mode that varies assistance and resistance based on inclines? Like an automatic gear shift. If not there should be. Also, you could reverse engineer the app and use their API to control it. I'd use this with a VR/MR app to toggle resistance on when walking through liquid and toggle it off when walking out of it. It's rare that we get kinesthetic haptics in a relatively affordable consumer device. Edit: something else I just thought of, people that have trouble getting out of chairs like my aunt that uses a motorized chair can probably use this or something like it soon to help get up. Motorized chairs are a couple grand and can't be taken with you everywhere.

@@theexpierow8951 Thanks for the reply. Been thinking about this a lot and I am really concerned about the differential stress this will cause. I mean you now have super powered quads attached at your lower back. What about the calf muscles, ligaments, tendons of the knee for example? Rotational forces placed on the lower back and hips. IF you were poor trained, I am pretty sure this would really mess you up. Running that much faster with a body not used to it will create massively different forces AND impacts throughout the entire body. I think it actually partly has a knock on benefit as everything is connected. That was my perception anyway. Didn’t notice anything that felt different. Although if your calf muscles aren’t strong enough for what you’re doing, you’ll slow down anyway. The key is to match the assistance level to what you’re doing

I see the greatest benefit being extending health span without drugs and/or surgery - it's greatest challenge will be excess weight, ie obesity.

Price and packaging will make or break this. It has potential in many fields. The economy today is tough. It can easily sell from law enforcement to forest rangers nurses to waitress general workers to enthusiast hikers. Endless possibilities. 1model at the right price creates a space to make it a standard daily tool

Hmmm this would be interesting as a climber (with also knee injuries). Bouldering requires a ton of weight to carry, sometimes long distances so it would be interesting to see if this helps to ease approaches to crags.

Is this a sponsored video or not? Can't see it anywhere saying so but I am seriously dubious about kickstarters and sponsored "positive" reviews. Usually promise the earth but fall insanely short on those. 😊 Product does look fantastic from the review.

Can you use it while cycling? How much regen would you get from resistance setting on the flats to offset full assistance on a climb hike or run? I'm getting to my 60's and this would def be something I would consider in a gen 1 full production or gen 2.0 . BTW just subscribed to your channel and enjoying your work thus far. Respects from Edmonton, Alberta Canada.

Cool. I wonder if you measured your HR, heart rate, while you were testing it. Would be interesting to see how much the assist mode lowered your HR, and vice-versa with resistance mode.

Nice job! So my question - I'm asking for a friend (well, my wife actually), does it do anything to help your stability? My wife has balance issues following a stroke, do you think these help you keep your balance at all?

Afraid not. You need to be able to walk 30m unassisted for these to have a benefit.

I was hoping it would come with a built in speaker to play the Six Million Dollar Man jumping sound effect when ever you jumped! I want to put one under clothing and see the looks on peoples faces when I run as fast as I can! What's the range of motion for sideways motion of your legs? This could be great for all sorts of training, like resistance for jumping, or for martial arts kicks. Would these work in combination with an e-bike?! Have to admit, $1000 was far less than I thought you were going to say. I was expecting more like $2-3k for such a new technology.

Haha, sailing past people. It won't make you run ridiculously fast as I think that would probably be bad for your joints 🤣 But definitely gives you quite the boost. It has a side hinge so I didn't really feel it restricted my range of motion at all. Yeah can be use on a bike although not specifically designed with that in mind.

The Dnsys X1 can currently use its motors to play music. We have prepared a demo which you can view on our homepage(LAB TESTING & DEMO). In the future, we will also provide functionality to edit custom music scores through an app :) The Dnsys X1's leg lateral movement range extends from +90 degrees to -90 degrees, fully covering all possible motion ranges. The X1 can also be used with an ebike; you just need to activate the assistance for normal riding. We plan to make the exoskeleton affordable for everyone so that all can benefit from this technology.😀

My dog needs to run about 15kms/day, as a minimum. For me this can be a bit much, at the moment I use the push bike which is cool but this gadget would open more possibilities, like doing the 15+kms on hiking trails instead of cyclable paths.
