One of the best moments for me was that GPU scavenger hunt contest a while ago. I never won, but i would sneak in the station just to troll. Lots of fun testing builds and ideas.

it was interesting because it put player's imagination to test. it was about being smart, not just having a powerfull over engineered ship like nowadays. i realy hope player driven content like this will happen again

I have been discovering a lot of the new objects, featured in the codex index. Well I'm not 100% sure if I was the first one to find them. But those molluscs are so small they are easy to miss. I feel that there should be a community photo gallery where we can upload snapshots.

I'm on my way to Colonia in my Beluga. I'm moving there...at least for the foreseeable future. Great video btw. I know it takes a lot of time and energy to put these together, especially with as high quality as your content is. o7 Cmndr.

Xavier Altimiras not that I’m aware of;however, I haven’t read the full update notes. This will, though, be my first time there. I’ve been to Sag A, but never Colonia. I’m going to base myself there in order to focus on exploration of the other side of the galaxy. Really looking forward to it.

Loving these vids! I haven't got this yet, ps4 player but I'm going to do up my music pc so that I can run this full set up (oculus rift, x52 and voice attack). I'm tempted to start before as it'll be a couple of months before I can, but think it'll be more awesome to start my adventures with full imersion) looking forward to joining the ranks. As of Apr 21, we have explored only 0.016% of the galaxy. There is still plenty to see. Yes, we have explored hundreds of millions of systems... But I am looking forward to heading into the black myself as well.

What are the odds? 2 days ago I had my youngest pick a star for me to go to 226 jumps later we get there... it had already been discovered, 300ish ly down and 11kly counter clockwise from the bubble.

I just went to Colonia last week. I went "north" a few thousand LY first then cut over so I would be off the main path. The pros are you can get tons of first discoveries, it's a pretty journey and it's pretty when you get there. I made enough discoveries to go from barely pioneer rank to elite when I sold my data. Cons: there isn't really anything new to do out there and it took me 3 days of playing 4 or 5 hours a day stopping to scan and map valuables in a 42LY range viper mkiv.

Can someone help a lady commander out? Just curious about something.. In 2017 Frontier showed concept art of a icy world with cool geology and said the enhancements were coming in Q4 2018.... Why didn't we get those geological improvements???

I haven't played Elite Dangerous yet, so I'm a bit confused. Do players create these events, or do they just stumble on narrative threads, like in a paper RPG?

some of them are player driven, like distant worlds, where its player only with maybe some additional stuff handled by FDev. then there is the events started by players then upscaled by frontier. those ones tend to be pretty cool overall since they emanate from the community so they tend to be direct and focused on a pretty well defined task. then there is the discovery events, like gardians or thargoids. those ususaly revolve around premade narrative threads that need to get discovered by a player. while technicaly this requires a player to randomly stumble upon it, it ususaly falls into the hands of the data miners to speed the whole process up. these are ususaly cool (exept their gameplay aspects ususaly grindy as fuck) but have pretty wide gaps between happenings, and some of them (like the big restricted zones on the galaxy map or the formidine rift) are only there to hint at future narrative content, and not actualy present within the game. then there is one off events organised by frontier. those can be cool, but frontier seem to be a bit too disconected from their players and tend to screw those events up a bit too often for confort. one of the last incident was with the gnosis, a megaship """owned""" by a player research faction that attempted to jump onto one of said restricted galaxy areas. frontier obviously didn't have any content inside of those, so in theory they shoudn't have authorised the jump, yet they did to create hype. their goal was to introduce the new thargoid interceptors, but their failed to realise that the event, the way they set it up to be, mostly attracted explorers in paper ships. needless to say, the event was a mess with the gnosis even attacking the players that tried to defend it because frontier forgot to turn off the no fire zone, while all the non combat ships where destroyed trying to exit the gnosis.

Hello friends. I'm building a new system (workstation, limited gaming) which will have a 2560x1440 monitor, and will be purchasing Elite: Dangerous as my new game of choice (I played WoW for twelve years, and it is time for a change). Does anyone have recommendations re: the GPU I should be looking at for ideal gameplay on a monitor with this resolution? I understand that this game isn't as taxing on system resources as many other games out there. Thanks so much!
