a lot of people are willing to buy 2TB SSDs exclusively for this game, my brother is one. so I fully believe they should give players to option to download the entire game and save specific terrain cache of places they fly frequently. my brother for example mostly fly between Rio and São Paulo, so I'm sure he wouldn't mind downloading a TB of terrain data so he doesn't need to stream it every time.

It's really weird waking up in the eastern USA at 8am RW but having to make a flight from Guam to Tokyo where it's 8pm. I use real time because if you don't, you get incorrect live weather. (it's night but the temps are daytime temps)

At the very least, it should be possible to allocate a specified amount of local storage for the install and frequently accessed data. These days, storage is relatively cheap, but broadband connection speeds are highly variable, and the user may not always have any option to gain faster access. Keen flight-sim users can probably spare a few hundred GB, so why would MS want to degrade the experience by limiting the installed size artificially?

I waited three days when I first tried it for free on game pass for PC. To my surprise it worked pretty well, so I bought it from steam. Career mode has some bugs, but otherwise it's been pretty good experience.

MSFS 2024 is my first flight sim and I can wholeheartedly say this is amazing. Crazy to me seeing how much negative press this has. I can see these games have a very demanding customer base which is good. For first time players wondering whether to buy or not, I say don’t hesitate!

Hopefully they'll work on the seasons thing because my home area looks nothing like it should. The ground is a horrible chocolate brown in places there used to be green, yet the trees are still fully leafed out like it's summer still. It's like all they did was rotate the ground color hue and call it a day.

I wish they changed the washed-out lighting to something closer to what they advertised in their many previews for months. The loading screen also gives the impression that we're getting nice colors, but every time I load into an airport, I feel I am looking at the world with chlorine in my eyes. Luckily, my monitor has a gaming setting that fixes that swimming pool chlorine effect. Show me something for months and then sell me a different experience, that's so Asobo/Microsoft.

This sim is flawed but it has got such a great potential… on the plus side I feel that (most importantly) they have got the ‘gameplay’ side of this sim spot on. I know there are bugs with and around career mode but the ideas and gameplay are brilliant. Another plus: the graphics sound and aircraft look and sound really good. The announcement by MS and the apologetic demeanour of the dude have made me much happier about the whole sim, especially that we will receive four new planes for free! Thankyou Microsoft.

The reviews I saw observed quite a few bugs when playing the career missions like spawning the your aircraft between trees or passengers sitting under your aircraft in thin air. :D Landing challenges and other stuff seem to be less buggy but still they released it a few months too early I would say.

It is good that they have a least acknowledged the issues, and that they are willing to give us (hopefully something useful) planes to make up for it. Hopefully the career gets a lot of the more annoying issues sorted over the next few weeks ready for the christmas break (insurance mainly).

You understand that's just the client code and textures. Terrain data is still on the order of petabytes. You're going to be streaming tons of data no matter how much storage you have.

For me they can continue to make the ground textures and airports etc as impressive as possible. But the poor atmospheric simulation is such an immersion killer for me. Lack of high level isolated CBs in the cruise, 300 mile visibility in the cruise on clear days etc. wish this would be addressed !

I get a horrible sinking feeling that the development cycle for 2024 will be the same as 2020. Majority of the effort concentrated on world updates and famous flyers whilst day one bugs never get addressed, what bugs do get fixed will break 3 other things.

On a 70mb line it took me 10 mins before giving up - the gfx pre streamed are just horrible - you may as well load up and go for a coffee before the area you are leaving is better looking than FS2004. Will look again once offline options are implemented.

I can make peace with all these launch disasters and bugs. But what I cannot make peace with the supposed one of if not the biggest 2024 selling point for ordinary players - the career mode. It is ridiculous that Asobo treats the major feature of a $70 dollar beyond full-price game as a forced F2P-like model. A pure single-player experience with zero customization or options for any progression/economy allowed, not even the most basic ingame assistance options are selectable. With an insane amount of force grinding that ruins any semblance of fun or immersion for most players (It would take two thousand hours of grinding in the current economy to get what you supposedly already owned with the simrate speed up which some fanboys are crusading against in the official forum, and at least four times more so tens of thousands hours of grinding if simrate speed up are banned). Not even mention all sorts of punishment that induce negative grinding outcomes, such game progression model that even many F2P developers will hesitate to use. And there is evidence that either Asobo is planning, or at least once considered to double dip their product by monetizing the career mode progression by selling career credits. Which would explain all of these ridiculous decisions perfectly😅

The entire UK? With all the new detail, probably at least a few terabytes. As a quick calculation, the island of Great Britain is approximately 80,000 miles. The total landmass of the Earth is approximately 57,309,000 square miles, thus making Great Britain around .14% of the total volume of land. If the entire world is 3,000,000 gigabytes of data as mentioned in the video, then that means the island of Great Britain would be approximately 4,200 gigabytes, or 4.2 terabytes. On a side note, I'm not including oceans because I figured the water could be relatively randomly generated unlike the exact locations of buildings, trees, rocks, stuff like that.

I can't see any commitment to acknowledge and fix the issue. They still lie in our faces every time their streaming servers are hopelessly overloaded and show a warning that there wouldn't be enough bandwidth. It's not a bandwidth, network, whatsoever issue, it's their servers. The concept is broken. I will believe they acknowledge and fix the issue once the error message sais: "Microsofts MSFS2024 streaming server landscape is overloaded, you can't play the game you bought right now!".

Right now new error code 308-400-0029 once you try to do any of the freelance mission, extreme annoying. It will crash the mission. Same with fuel bug of the G36 I bought that Beechcraft G-36 for 760.000 Credits, start a freelance VIP mission and the plane has 0% fuel. You can use the keybinding repair and fuel but the mission crashes anyway. Doesn't matter what mission you don in freelance, since 3 days i have this error and many players do have the same problem. Hope the Devs will fix this a.s.a.p. Thnx for sharing this vid and keep up your great work. Cheers!

New content??? They wanna kidding me? They should do NOTHING else before they fixed all the massive problems the flight simulator currently has. First priority is making the game run properly and fix the massive server issues. Second priority the broken user interface (especially in but not limited to VR), broken camera, broken controls, general bugs and glitches. Third priority the broken campaign and logic errors within the campaign missions. If this is all done we're 6 months further on and THEN they can think about other stuff.
