I started as a Fire Tank and played one for years...It is very good and fun. I run Rage Tank and am one of the top tanks. Rage takes good timing and if you get it down....it's the Best tanking in the entire game.

*Yo this loadout is pretty legit* I made a rage powered escanor character recently.. wasn't hating my loadout but wanted to see what others thought. Besides 1 move, and the supercharge, our loadouts were pretty similar. So i switched to yours to test it out. It took about an hour to get it down just right. I liked it, so i stuck with it. Now listen, im sure this high level character i was with, was just casually blowing through a low level mission.. but they had me on dps for a minute.. by the end though i was stoked to see me as top dps of the match. Though im only a level 45 with 69 sp, so im sure 1 vs 1 they would've won.. but im definitely thrilled with the loadout. Now to get the sp rolling in and get my power level to a decent number, then I'll be doin damage.

The only difference in my dps melee loadout is revenge instead of lacerate. The range of the melee attack for Revenge isn't actually melee range. So you can jump further to the next set of NPC faster. Not saying it hits harder, just seems faster the way I play. Nice video.

First rotation - severe punishment, cancel crash, stack redirected rage and hardlight shield (with manacles of force and 10% reduction back piece for redirected rage). At 50% cool down on redirected rage, start severe punishment again. Cancel your crash and stack perfect poise and redirected rage. Rinse, repeat. Two shields at all times, and severe punishment up the rest.

I'm not sure if you know, but since no one has said anything i might as well. For lascerate, if you rotate your left analog stick clockwise, your spin speed will increase and so will the damage. So that may or may not give you more damage while waiting for outrage to come off cool down

Hi. I've been using your guide for my rage tank ( i'm a newer player ) and i had a few questions: 1) What weapon type + weapon COMBO is most recommended to use for rage tank? everyone just says 'use whatever weapon you want' but... there's always going to be a BEST weapon + Combo. is there a 'best' combo per weapon you could recommend at least? and 2) Would you recommend using the mystic symbol of Seven as the third tank artifact? i don't see you talk about it in the video and it seems pretty solid.

1) the most ideal tank weapons will be 1handed and shield because they have the quickest lunges and are easier to counter with. In terms of combos you can really use whichever you have time for before you have to hit another power or cancel etc. 2) the mystic symbol wasn’t released when I made this guide, however it is a really good artifact for rage. You get 5% health and the extra defense. The healing isn’t necessary so even at 120 the mystic is good.

@@TheMLGNimmo I wouldn't bother, you don't really have enough time for most and better spent sp in stats. For example if you get 1handed you can just do flip slash as a combo etc. It's like 20 ish sp just to do weapon mastery and thats alot when you could have dom/health etc

Hello again, A few questions bugging me. Is Rage good with any weapon types or some specific ones? Seen a few videos of Rage with SS, will i lose out with flying? From the video tanking with rage is hybrid and you allocated points to health over dominance, i know you touched it in the video care to elaborate on this, since dom has a greater effect of superpower on mobs? Watched Arguments video, with Rage would you suggest the Dom arguments? Also base mods? All dom and red as might (if they still exist) P.s. returning only because its been moved to the switch o.O

In terms of weapons for tanking? It will work for anything just 1handed and shield have better lunges which is more helpful for a tank but its honestly personal choice. If you're flying you won't lose out, technically the best for rage melee is superspeed and for single target its acrobatics so rage is all over etc. You will already reach the dom cap with tank gear and the way rage's mechanics work you benefit more from health because for your dom to max out your health you would consistently always have to be above the hit combo threshold which is not realistic in combat. For rage its dom augments and might/prec depending what you are

@@candyflux9703 nothing to update with rage, the only thing to add would be precision really. Unless you go acrobatics the single target might won't change If robot sidekick is too power hungry just sub it out for echain on the dps side to lower the power costs on the rotation.

I plan on creating a DCUO 2 based of the original DCUO that we use to love. ShadowB22B pvp has mostly died in his game and I personally don’t find it enjoyable. Most of the time every powers pvp loadout will just be shields and 1 or 2 damaging powers. For rage you’d want severe punishment, outrage and lacerate as you can’t be countered and echain for cancels and then just redirected shield and hard light shield

Good video, lots of good info here But just real quick, how much is your health as a tank fully buffed exactly? To be giving out 5k might buff to group using tetra you’d have to be over 300k health which seems unlikely. I think your math is off, but please correct me if I’m wrong

Different type of DOS, do its hard to compare the 2. Rage is more burst dmg where electric is more dmg over time. Imo rage out shines elec, but in elite electric will be able to do better / wont need to go prec unless its single target.

what i dont get is how do rage tanks do solo content when spec as a tank? i am definitely noticing i need need need more hp when i tank but my dmg is already terrible if i went into full HP instead of some into might and power, stuff like atlantis dailies would become very long i guess i just dont understand dmg cal in this game entirely yet my new celestial is spec for healer even tho its only cr 45-50 and obviously has low level artifacts and augments and gear it does way more dmg than cr 222 rage in atlantis

You couldn't just spam Outrage when Rage came out. It was vulnerable to block. You could clip it, but not just easily spam it. Berserk SC was also interruptable, so you had to use it right or you got zero damage off it.

For rage those points will increase the amount of heals you will receive from your self healing powers like "Ire" they will not help your rage mode healing which is why you don't max them out.

I dont even understand are those artefacts the normal ones you can buy from that guy or do you get new artefacts at higher levels so maybe i shouldnt spend my exobytes to lvl my artefacts

Nikita Müller depending on your CR you won’t be able to access some because some of the artifacts only drop from completing certain raids. So you would for example have to finish shattered Gotham or crown of thorns to get the artifact mission to complete which you’d have to be high enough CR to finish the raid

Nikita Müller I wouldn’t worry about leveling any artifacts till you are higher because there will be more options and that you don’t really need artifacts leveling up. If anything you can put xp into the Scrap of the Soul Cloak which you should have or you will get soon as that will be good later on as well.

On Ps4 range DPS it seems the only way I can cancel freezing breath is by jump. Also, there seems to be a slight dreadful blast ranged melee hold lag ( The timing is goofy after a couple of rotations).

Im kinda getting into it now. This is a really good guide. Sometimes i die because i cant time the crash correctly and get full hp taken away but im getting better. I tanked the whole metal event where the laughing batman comes at the end and died like 2 or 3 times only. Its hard to hear the heart when theres so much going on doe. I tanked 8million dm and healed like 4million which was almost as much as the healer did. Ive only dealt like 500k dm doe while everyone else had 2m+. Am i expected to deal dm as a tank? Also could you pls explain what you mean by "second hold" when you do the rage crash too early. Thx a lot your guides really do help.

Do you mean a mmo mouse with the extra buttons? If so then yes, my mouse has 5 buttons which I use for my trinkets on my utility belt.

I noticed you said earlier you'd rather not run the super charge and just have another shield but you're using the super charge in the example. Does it not really matter? Or is Supercharge the go to option? I want to be a good tank like you someday!

The only time I would run a supercharge as rage is if I just wanted to spam regen with the eye of the Gemini for the group. For any serious tanking fight where I could die I wouldn’t run a supercharge. For hallways or easy bosses I’ll run it just to make the fight faster by giving supercharge to the group etc

Nikita Müller two handed is fine, the rage combo you’ll reach eventually in content. And even once you reach end game content you won’t be able to maintain a high combo regardless. Just use a weapon you are comfortable with for countering because that will be more important. If you like two handed you can certainly do well with rage

What would you say to players who don’t have many skill points? How would you spec? Also, it’s said that dom is combined with resto to determine healing and shield potency. Why would you spec dom without some in resto?

@@PersonLabeledN0AH The shield formula favors dom, percentage wise. Also, resto doesn't directly affect your tank mechanic, whereas dom does. Health and dom are far superior stats to invest in as a tank. Fire and Ice might be the only tanks that could benefit from a resto increase, due to the self healing actually being affected by resto (fire), and the rotation of shields being part of it's mechanic (ice). Even then, health and dom should be the priority.

there is no health augments, just DOM now. Every tank always takes the same augments. Even fire it's not worth it to take resto augments.

Obsidian can you please explain to me exactly why you use Solar Amplifier when it Amplifies Heat Vision yet we use Freezing Breath?

solar amplifer is the only artifact with 5% might passive increase and has the highest base might at 890. If you don't wear it as a might dps you lose around 1000+ might and for a powerset like rage you want all the might you can get for damage.

So I guess I'm seeing 30k parsers and you're seeing 40k is a direct cause of you having 39k might and me having 35k? I gotta get my artifacts up.

yea 4k might is a big gap there, there are only 2 things that would highlight any difference between my parses and yours using the same rotation and thats just might and crit % so if you see that my largest hit and crits are similar to yours than it will be the might. Which in this case 4k is alot if you were

@@ObsidianChill After I sent that message I took a Compound Omega which boosted my parse up to 34k with a little over 36k might. I guess that plus 3% might from 2 of the 3 artifacts really means a lot. I have them at around 140 so I just need to get on and grind.

You might of explained this so sorry in advanced, but how come when you use beserk it will not reset the meter and you can use it again off cooldown.

Because of the amount of supercharge regeneration I have with relentless and the scrap of the soul cloak artifact. It’s less than this video now because you don’t have tanks and healers using eye of Gemini as often but you still earn supercharge quickly enough combining your sc regen

I disagree. I have ran Rage Tank for years and can out-do many other tanks in any environment. Rage Tanks are about precision timing with your use of Powers...If you have solid timing and systems...and a solid controller...you will be able to tank almost anything. I almost never go down. Running withg the right people is great too of course.

What point are you disagreeing with? I already said , and it’s widely known that rage tanks are the best tanks currently and they can easily do what many tanks struggle with

I realized I didn’t specify...The point that Rage Tanks suffer and aren’t good in Boss situations...that it is more for ads. I have done great with all situations. Now I will admit you have to build the experience and knowledge of the class...but if you master the timing, you will be able to take on anything for the most part. I also do run two of my spots different in power loadout from you as well. That was the only thing I disagreed with. Other than that...I think it was a great video and enjoyed seeing people still playing. I like to scan through videos to see if I find new things that I can tweak my setup and maybe get a little more out of my skill set. Thanks!

i'm not very impressed..i reached 250k health with rage in 2015 already. Even 30k/dps is not very much...numbers which were already possible 5 years ago...I watch this video after a long long time of break and i dont know if this makes me wanna come back...-.-

Stats revamp completely changed the game and normalized all the stat values. It also severely changed tanking which each tank having their mechanics adjusted to account for the devs pushing a non-blocking playstyle.

Nothing really has changed at all, for single target you could run channeled hate now inbetween. Artifacts will be the Transformation Card-Solar Amplifier-Scrap of the Soul Cloak. You can also level Eye of the Gemini for Rage Melee only but it will really only be good at 160-200 rank.
