To be fair a Light Prec would esecially just be a character that instead of using their ring to create hard light constructs they use to augment their own abilities sort of like an actual power ring So i think if your making a ring powered robot or some sort of hand blaster build I think you could go light the heck of it

My combo for single target ranged is : POWER Ram COMBO into Snaptrap CANCEL Snaptrap animation and start POWER handclap COMBO into 2nd handclap CANCEL 2nd handclap animation and start with POWER grasping hand COMBO into fan CANCEL fan animation by restarting rotation back to POWER RAM because snaptrap and grasping hand does dot's I can squeeze 2 sets of DOT's at the same time and if I have ram I can also have POWER Ram, COMBO into whiplash, CANCEL animation repeating ram and repeating a more simple combo which means I have a long range single target attack for bosses and a mid ranged group attack in 1 loadout. This requires large amount of skill points to have enough in might and power to regen the power quickly.

Oh wow, is the community finally learning how to play hard light after advanced mechanics? I made a loadout video for light over a year ago and I use almost exactly this loadout before the current artifacts. I spent weeks doing testing and math. I guess it's only a matter of time before people figured it out or used my loadout. Check out my melee range single target loadout. It is slightly better than the ranged one. Idk if anything has changed that would make it worse now, but it was the superior of the two. I haven't played in a year or so...

gadgets is best overall yes, munitions isn't that far behind in terms of dps but its just a basic controller set. But if you want best of both worlds, (might, prec, controlling) gadgets will be it

@@bitca222 yup nothing really has changed with this guide, you can add in light blast as it got buffed to each rotation but then you have to jump cancel it so you aren't in the duration the entire time. You can also add heat vision without solar amplifier to single target for some more dots and same thing jump cancel it. Also instead of Gemini you would use Transformation Card and Strategist instead of the 2 supercharges on non ss melee. Depends what current artifacts you have etc as strategist isn't worth it till 200 rank.

Yes, it's one of the few that has a decent melee, ranged, AOE AND single target loadout. Most other powers (with the exception of Nature and prec powers) lack the single target ability but are BEASTS with AOE. Hardlight is one of the VERY few that is good all-around and FUN if you can figure out the timing of the constructs. You probably see a change in the loadouts for Hardlight soon to incorporate the Lamort card due to it's "finisher" move also being an AOE attack (can't wait)!

Ace Boon Koon light is only better at single target over rage. Light will also use a lot of power too. But if you like the extra clipping Light can be fun but Rage is still the better overall

Did you test sonic cry instead of entrap or dervish? That was what I used about a year ago before I stopped playing and it always gave me the most damage. Whip, cry, whip, weight etc.

sonic cry still does well because its 360 degree dmg just doesn't work timing wise being 3s vs 1.5s. Entrap crits the same as sonic cry just doesn't have as much as a damage radius which wouldn't matter with a tank. Plus in lower content entrap will encase which will be worse so you'd need sonic still then.

Jean Michael they changed how EoG split in the past and now for single target it’s not that good unless you have no other artifact available, there just isn’t enough dmg to make the stat drop worth it. It’s best for aoe

Ballistic Assault can't be clipped, am I doing something wrong then? When I use Ballistic Assault and then press space bar to jump the helicopter is still animated above me, but I can then move around freely to do other attacks.

you definitely don't want to jump cancel it like that because the animation of the SC will play out but it does 0 damage. If you cancel ballistic assault early it stops of the damage. You are stuck in the animation the entire time which is why its a bad sc :(

Brandon Q the way it was set up for just for aoe, light is completely flexible where you could just drop inspiration or another supercharge if you weren’t going to spam EoG and have the rotation set up for any single target situations as well as a hybrid armory. Just not enough time to go into every variation and situation you’d use them in so it is jus a generalization

Rupty you yeah basically so you get market cash or tokens if you want to call it that and you get some called a respect token now what this does is that it allows you to change to the different powers you have bought. Now what I mean by that the game gives you like 7 different types of powers you could choose from to start your character but you have the option if you want is to bu the new powers the developers of the game put out like atomic or earth. But they cost real world money. Want you do that you either could make a new character and start off with the power you just bought or buy a respect token from the market place and switch the power your main character currently has to that new power you bought. Once you do that you can play with that power but be careful though since if you have gear on your inventory that only allowed to be used for healer or tank the gear will lock or you want be able to use it always when changing to new powers make sure to have your whole set of gear on Dps if you don’t you will be lock out of your gear due to you having a healing power and you having tank only gear. Also to you question you will have the power whenever you want and as long as you want. You also if you want could always change to another power again and repeat the processes. Hope this response helps answer your questions.

Tsavorentless R in terms of aoe dmg ram(whips) will be less than whips(whips) but for the movement you don’t notice it negatively as much, if it’s the next set of adds you can just lunge to them and start the next whips. If there is a range component to the fight you’d need ram but you also wouldn’t be using a melee rotation for that case as well. The double supercharge will work most effectively with a healer providing supercharge which won’t be the case in most pugs but for end game content it’s quite common in groups.

@@ObsidianChill Oh - I understand fully. It's not a comment on you or your build; I trust you implicitly and recommend and reference your videos to everyone. I think there's an issue with the power set if in order to play Light well you have use a majority of powers outside the powerset. Reaching outside that much makes sense if you are doing something outside the scope of the set. For example, AOE Celestial DPS when the set is more tuned to single target. I haven't sat down to do a deep look as it was late last night when I watched it, but your Might Melee is 1/3 Light and 2/3 other stuff. Might ranged is just Ram. Sounds like there's a problem with Light.

@@tygerdave7892 it's more so a problem with superspeed movement abilities being that much stronger than anything the regular powersets can do that we have no choice but to use them for damage. There are still alot of imbalance issues unfortunately.

For example, I would think Robot Sidekick to be something you take in a non-DPS role, allowing you to provide some 'umph' to the fight while you're busy 'healing power', but to become a necessary component of your DPS while in DPS spec seems problematic. It dilutes the quality of the powerset concept. Mind you, I am all for 'breaking the norms' as well; such as Precision weapons over Might Powers, or maybe using nothing but Iconics/movement powers and abandoning the powerset fully. These are clever and fun, but it's a shame that Green Lantern is the best when he DOESN'T use Green Lantern powers. These problems are all at the Daybreak level, leaving it to brilliant people like yourself to adapt and create viable builds off what we have. And I absolutely appreciate you doing that.

Tyger Dave so I read this conversation and I wondering if you’re referring to the number of powers/skills on his loadout bar? Being a light user I know that you only need about two skills because light powers chain for no energy cost. You activate and then use a series of button presses to continue activating powers. Example on ps4 you hold L2 or R2 and either x, o, square or triangle to activate a power. However you can immediately tap or hold square or triangle to combo into other construct powers without holding down the L2/R2 respectively. If you already knew this then I’m sorry for wasting your time.

Ram into whips isnt bad but it slows the rotation down and would be a net damage loss compared to just whip into lw/dervish.

Native East light max range has always been sub par, you can use freezing breath to have spikes in dmg when the first 2 ticks crit, you can sit in HV and hope the explosion crits but any actual light rotations with light blast or mini which are the range aoe options are too slow in dmg

Unfortunately this isn't a cosplay build where I only use lantern powers. These are the powers you need to deal the most damage as light and be the most successful in a raid.

Esteban Massola to clip the long animation time of tornado pull, it’s just a clip only. Or zip tie or whichever move you are using. Light st is just 2 powers

@@mattt8967 Any game that has cross-play but allows PC users a massive advantage is patently wrong. Clipping on a keyboard is massively easier than on a joy pad.it's not even funny.

Yeah thanks to people like you game went from awesome to garbage right after update 31 when they shafted clipping around 4 years back. Lots of og players left the game becaude of that because they killed the identity of DCUO

@@gridhellsing And where did these magical mystical fairies go to. I mean there are very few MMO's that allow clipping. So where did these so-called OG's go to? Or did they just leave because at the end of the day DCUO is a fucking mess of a game.

@@overcorpse No he's right if you weren't playing back then you wouldnt quite understand. This game had a mass exodus when clipping was reduced to nothing and when OC came out.
