Have now looked at some Wonderboy to adore, apparently nobody knows the trick, now I'll just write it in the comments. In the Sphinx Round, where the spikes are and you keep getting gold, you have to stand exactly on the groove. So look a few millimeters from the edge in the direction of the spines. Always shortly before a piece of gold touches the third last spike, you have to jump and stab at the same time. If you do it accurately enough, you get 68 gold for every gold piece! But I'm not sure if this applies to all versions !!!Dosnt work with Legend Shoes!!!

Nice find! You can guarantee max gold drops with frame perfect inputs. If wonder boy changes the direction he's facing 1 frame before picking up the gold, it'll give the max. Back when I used to play this in the arcades, we would jiggle the joystick left/right in the hopes of achieving the same outcome.

@@ninespaces760 thanks a million for the tip. this is the answer to my childhood mystery. by the way, you don't happen to know the secrer of wwf 2, would you? i mean, if you play wwf 2 wrestle fest and choose royal rumble, like, i usually go for ultimate warrior, sometimes i can throw my opponent out of the ring and most of the times, i don't. it has got something to do with the side that i'm facing when i try to throw them out of the ring, perhaps? the computer seemed to have no problem doing so at anytime it wants. and some tas clip shows it can be done as well for the player side. that's like the 2nd mystery i still couldn't figure out. if by any chance know how to do that, please let me know. again, thanks a million for this tip. this was like my first mystery. now i think i've got the answer. i'll try it myself tomorrow after dinner. 🙌
