Even the judges noticed that there was something wrong with the match, Hawk clearly only lost cause he was going easy on Kenny and because Kenny used dirty moves on him, after Kenny's first point Hawk stopped going so easy on him and actually scored a point but the ref was bribed and didn't considered it. If Hawk was serious from the beginning he would've quickly scored the 3 points, it wouldn't even be a match.

I think Hawk lost because he tried to get away from his aggressive fighting style. All those days at Miyagi-Do and he's completely changed. Meanwhile, Kenny trained non-stop and built up a lot of courage. His speed is built to overcome strength, which was the case in this fight. Not to mention Robby asked him to take it easy on Kenny, so he didn't fight hard.

This is still only a few months after the tournament. Hawk didn't take him seriously the first point, much like Robby. But then he definitely did. How Hawk suddenly can't defend a pretty simple hit to the gut, is absolutely dumb writing. I realize Silver taught Kenny where to hit him, but you still have to deliver that hit, which is hard against someone as experienced as Hawk. We saw Hawk defend much more difficult attacks against Robby and Miguel, but Kenny has no problem getting in a gut shot. This makes no sense. We are suppose to believe Kenny is now so much stronger since then. Are we supposed to believe he's better than Hawk? No, but he suddenly can go toe-to-toe with a Hawk. Again, just absolutely dumb.

They really did Hawk dirty with his fight against Kenny. Makes people wanna hate Silver and Cobra Kai even more. Even if the ref was bribed and Kenny was fighting dirty, Hawk still could have won. Plus Robby shouldn’t have told Hawk to go easy on that little monster. Also how it should have gone is that after that Silver bullet move, Hawk gets back up with still some fight left in him and defeats Kenny. He then sasses Kenny by saying “You’ve gotten good Kenny, I’ll give you that. Just not good enough to beat me”. I’d like to see how Kenny would respond to that.

They had to have Kenny cuz they r giving him the underdog story like Danny La Rousso when he was going against a better 2 time all valley champ like Johnny in Karate kid 1 except the twist is its from the "bad guys POV". Obviously the ref thing was fucked up but Hawk being unable to fight would cause him to lose even if the score was 2-1 Hawk.
