Obulb Original Vs. Obulb MC

For the MC or the original light if you put a small washer on the bottom it makes it turn on and off by pressing the top give it a try

So happy I watched this as much as I'd like the added colors and slightly increased brightness but not being able to turn the obulb on by pressing the top is an absolute deal breaker for me will stick with the original

The colors are fun, but perhaps the original is more practical? The original Obulb has a UI more like most Olights. I just wish it had the timer like the Batons. Anyway, I have three Obulb MC versions. The white and the red one will work with a push on the top. The black will not. I think it is a tolerance issue and luck of the draw whether you will get one that will work with a simple push on the dome. I have a firm rubber coaster which does have some give to it. The black one will work better on that then a hard surface. Like you, I literally could not get it to work from a push on a hard surface, including trying it on marble. When I went to double check and try it on the coaster to make this report, I for the first time also got it to work on the hard surface of my nightstand. Maybe it will improve over time? Anyway it will with some pressure work on a semi-hard surface. TreyPerryWx, I think I prefer having both. LOL. Thanks for the video. I really do like the 2700K or warm white for use at night. Easy on the eyes on low. I also like that it is IPX7, floats, and that it will stick almost anywhere ferrous. If you have a ferrous wallboard corner bead it will stick there or even on a wallplate screw. I had three of the originals out in heavy rain one night on low, lighting up a new raised bed herb garden, to keep an eye on it, and they worked fine. Gathered them up in the morning, turned them off, dried them, and they were ready for another use. We have one above out kitchen sink on one of the metal coins. Interesting how the light goes up and out too. Good when working under a sink or to use in the palm of your hand when getting up at night. I do like the Osling. I wanted to add that the Olink is also great to have. It has a super strong magnet. Useful for many purposes. E.G. on our inside garage door it has as a steel surface per code. The Olink is great for holding something to it, and the ring makes it easy to tug off, without protruding when at rest. One can also, like a Olight Baton or Perun mini stick it to the metal frame of a medicine cabinet, and then hand an Osling with Obulb from it.

Regarding your mention of having to cycle thru bro get back to your low white (bathroom setting) just press and HOLD to turn off and press and HOLD again to get right back to low white. (That's IF you just want it on low "Bathroom mode" 🤣)

Yup, It is very easy to get confused about which model you’re picking up (original vs. MC) and try to change modes on the original (and end up turning it off), or try to turn off the MC (and end up changing modes). Regardless, I like them both, because the MC is fun, and the original is just SO surprisingly handy!!!!

I have 5 original and 3 MC, will be adding a few more MC on the current sale probably. Will be keeping the original next to my bed at night for easier use and I def don’t need more light, just make sure I don’t stub my toes anymore.

If you don't care to own a specific light in every single color, then no harm no foul! The best way to buy is from the website during the flash sales anyways. But yeah, some of those guys are pretty nuts with their collections!!

Once you get it on the mode that you want then you hold the button down for a little bit and then when you hit it it'll come back on on the last setting

It's annoying trying to get to the special mode and then it's stupid that it only stays on that mode for 30 seconds. They need to change that to a triple click or just make it three next mode on the sequence. Also they need to change it so that it stays on that mode until you change it. I don't get why they made it different.

Can you use the "low lumen / high lumen white light" without cycling through every single color each time ?? I think the "Disco Mode" was a tiny little engineering mistake that they decided to turn into an easter egg.

You've got to cycle through every time. When it's off though, if you long press, it will take you straight to the low lumen white setting, then one more click is the high setting

It does but just barely, and you have to push extremely hard. If it's mounted on dry wall, I would be afraid of literally shoving it through the drywall trying to turn it on lol
