OC Transpo Stage 2 LRT Detours: 13 Day Closure of Woodroffe/Richmond, Rte 87 detour (May/June 2021)

On May 28, 2021, there was a 13 Day Closure of Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Rd intersection (May 28 to June 9, 2021 inclusive) to allow the construction activities for the Confederation Line West Extension Project (as part of Stage 2 LRT) to occur.
Specifically, they are creating a cut-and-cover tunnel along the Byron Linear Park (which is adjacent east-west of Richmond Road) for the LRT line. The future tunnel would connect the LRT line between Dominion Station and Lincoln Fields Station.
The 13 Day closure allowed the contractors to dig a trench deep enough to allow steel plates to be installed on top of the trench, which would enable the intersection to re-open to traffic following the intersection closure while allowing the cut-and-cover tunnel construction to continue.
This particular detour video is specific to Route 87 only, which required buses to travel on Carling Avenue and Churchill Avenue. Consequently, the following stops were missed during the 13 Day closure:
- Dominion Station
- Every bus stops in both directions along Woodroffe Avenue between Carling Avenue and Sir John A Macdonald Parkway (previously known as the Ottawa River Parkway)
There is no scheduled stops along the detour routing (along Churchill Avenue, and Carling Avenue)
