as a beginner there are only a finite number of factors you can take in to account. We were told to get used to of turning to one side (the default side, which you find by asking people to run to a certain point, touch something on the floor and run back. The side they turn is the default side -as long as you didn't tell them what the purpose of this is ;) ) This gives the beginner more resources to focus on wing and less worry about which side to turn. Once there is enough routines on handling the glider, it is easy to focus on extra stuff, like which side riser is up etc. Great video though :)

I prefer to have the brakes around each wrist because if you get ripped off the ground it's going to be really hard to find that other brake handle flapping around and if you only have one break in your hand that can be a dangerous situation putting your glider into a spin or hard turn. I also would emphasize that if your wing comes up really fast because of strong wind you can take the energy out by running towards your wing always remember that the faster you run towards your wing the more you weaken the thrust forward I also like to have an a + c combination that I can pull the C's which won't pull the wing down but weakens it's surge. This is a great discussion and very important part of flying I watch a lot of bad pilots Rush this part and just get into the air which at some point can cost them

Totally agree with A and C riser and brake technique for max control. You’re really onto what you’re analysing. . If you’re not in control on launch it’s going to eat you one day 😜

Thank you Max for sharing your techniques. Though their are many ways that are effective, some more efficient or safe and some can compliment ones style better. I Watch and learn from those who can do what they teach. Others will work towards whats best for them. When getting instruction, is best to learn it their way and maybe modify later for reasons mentioned above.

Sou assinante do seu canal há muito tempo e observo que suas explicações são em inglês, Será que você não poderia adotar como padrão legendas em português para ajudar os seus assinantes brasileiros? Parabéns pelos seus vídeos

If he prefers to turn to the right why doesn't he puts his right risers on top and do so ?

It is nice to see somebody progressing. Thanks to you and your student. About your preferred method : "like this I full control..." I am not sure to understand why. You have both brakes in the left hand, I assume you will not use them during inflation since you are using that same hand for the D's. You have a fully free right hand to handle the A's. I have that idea that handling of the D's require more precision and strength than handling the A's. So why is the hand that has the most complicated things to do the one that is burdened with the brakes ?
@MaxMartini226 жыл бұрын
The idea is to be able to control as well with the left as with the right! I have 'full control 'because i can correct any assymetry using those techniques.
@olivierpercebois-garve55066 жыл бұрын
@@MaxMartini22 I am trying to wrap my mind around it. So you do use the brakes for balance correction during inflation. One on the wrist, one on the hand, so maybe it allows to move each independently enough. Is that correct ?
@MaxMartini226 жыл бұрын
Both brakes in one hand gives me full control, i can move my hands side to side to correct the direction, up and down to control the speed
@olivierpercebois-garve55066 жыл бұрын
@@MaxMartini22 thanks. I will practice it. Currently I am used to the first method you presented. If you are looking for ideas for future videos, I am curious to watch this method in reality and how to use it to handle various takeoff situations (gusts, asymmetry)

Any take off style where you let go of brakes should be discouraged.
