I like not making a 5 minute mistake at the end. 2nd try Dampe.
100% is now officially faster than Glitchless! (Glitchless record - 3:40:49)
The big new trick in this run compared to older 100% runs is the use of Stale Reference Manipulation or SRM. It can do a lot of things, but in this run, its used to get a bunch of items in Zora's River by manipulating a function in a butterfly and changing it into a function that can give link items (starts at 14:25). This run still has source requirement though, meaning none of the items I get from that glitch actually count towards 100% completion, but having a lot of those items early just speeds things up, even if it means I essentially have to get some items twice.

He grabbed an item right as he unloaded it. Normally, if you grab an item, the game makes this block of 1s and 0s that represents that item, then it gives link a "pointer" (sort of like a claim check) to that block of 1s and 0s. In this case, however, the game deleted the item right as he grabbed it, but the game still gave him a claim check to whatever item is in that block of memory. However, after this, it didn't remember to save that block of 1s and 0s. It went, "Oh, I'm done with this block, so I can write new stuff here instead." So, the game wrote new 1s and 0s over that. However, Link still has his claim check to whatever item is in that space. All the pausing and turning and setup was just to make the game write out a bunch of 1s and 0s to make the block that Link had a claim check for contain a bunch of items. Some items (like songs and the hookshot) can't be thrown, so when he tries to throw whatever he is holding (which he has now changed to this big glob of useful, unthrowable items), the game just drops them on his head. That's sort of a simplified answer, but it gives the general idea.

I'm just here to say how much better this game is compared to breadth of the wild. The music, the feeling, the story is much better. Crazy that it was made in 1998, talk about being ahead of its time. Maybe the combat system is better in botw but nothing else in my opinion.
