Ocarina of Time Any% Speedrun in

Great beginning and the best RNG I've ever had made for an otherworldly pace entering shop, but some pretty big mistakes during the crawlspace segment brought the run back down to Earth.

i know it needs new strats to be possible, but i feel like 3:3x is definitely happening sooner or later… i mean this could have been 343 just not losing time to crawlspace. Insane run as always count 🏆

Thank you, yeah clearly the biggest mistake lol. I actually got 10 rupees total here which is only 1 shy of having an extra 5, but sadly even if you get the extra 5 you can’t skip bridge blue since it’s a permanent rupee required for the heap setup. Same goes for most of the other blues aside from the stepping stone ones. It would actually allow you to skip the shop blue though since that one doesn’t affect kokiri forest, which would save about 2.5s, so it’s pretty crazy I was close to getting that timesave on such a great pace.

​@@CountLGoooh, thanks for explaining. Makes sense. Yeah I was even wondering about getting 3 more from the grass and skipping the blue behind mido + the grass patch next to there. But I guess shop rupee is the biggest candidate for skipping, when someone gets really stupid rng

Hey there! The best place to go for learning is definitely the OoT speedrunning discord. We have tutorials for the route pinned in the #any-percent channel, and you can ask questions about specific tricks and various routes there as well. And yeah the version and platform used do make a difference, but luckily most versions have a fast route very similar to this one.

Kinda depends on RNG. Theoretically you can save an extra 2s if you get enough to skip the shop blue, so with that + good execution, around a 3:41 or 3:42 becomes possible. But that would be essentially a miracle if it happened, so I'm not expecting to push that low.
