Top man is Dave Henderson and good to hear him talk about Paul Harrison another good bird man sadly missed

That was really interesting, a bit hard on the brain but a re-listen with pen and paper is something that I will certainly do. In addition I will listen to part 1. A list of different symptoms along with suggested treatments would be nice. Where is part 1? Thanks

What birds are native to Ireland that can be got captive bred easily

Dave is great but I am saying this for the purpose of those that need helpful information. Distilled water has all the metallic charges removed from it. It will contain charges from stuff like CO2 but not in any great amount. If you pre filter your water with an activated carbon filter and then distill it (very easy to do yourself at home with relatively inexpensive equipment), you have water that will do very very well with doxycycline treatment for birds. One issue is pH. The pH of deionized water is that little bit lower than distilled water, enhancing both solubility and taste for the birds. So yes, deionized water is better but distilled water will do absolutely fine

Morning Oliver can I ask a silly question hopefully I will soon be putting my first bird room together is there any reason why I could just keep cock canary's for now as I do not want to go down the breeding route yet thanks any advice greatly appreciated. Carl

Hi Carl, that sounds fine keeping just cock canaries. Hens are harder to get hold of so don’t over load with just cockbirds or else you will struggle to get enough hens. Make sure if keeping just cocks you give them their own cage each during the breeding season or can share larger cages/flights as they may get aggressive
