Nice one. I made a permanent rubber 1/2 leg years ago for a cock bullie that lost part of its leg when its ring got caught. It taught me not to leave loose wire ends. It was successful too.

One of my goldfinches was born like that and i did something very similar to what you did it didn't work 100% but it helped him a little , he can stand now , i kept it for 8 days

@@OCAVIARY they’re very mysterious, do see them in the tree hole but don’t think they nest there , seen them near my nest box but not sure if they’ve seen it or not , can normally tell with smaller birds where they’re nesting Might put the camera outside facing the box

Not sure if it was the cause, but the ring4wings rubber bands are in bigger sizes as well. Better for hawfinches and bigger legged birds. Great video Oliver, good to see it recovered!

Oliver try moving the cage perches lower down for a week or 2 so they don't hit them so hard that what I do with the greenies straight out of flight good fix though

Recently came across your channel and im liking it a lot. Just got a quick question, do you breed these birds to release them? Or are they just going to be captive breeders? Also where did you find these native birds and do you need a license to keep and breed them? Cheers

Hi, Most of these birds are bred for the purpose of exhibition and kept amongst other captive breeders. That said, I’m also breeding some rare birds which are being bred for conservation, for eventual release in several years time. The birds are sourced from other breeders, most species don’t require a license, but do check before buying. Everything you see in my bird room doesn’t need a license. They do however need to be closed rung with a BBC or IOA ring, of the correct size for the species. This is some proof of captive breeding

@@wzukryes I’m entirely aware of the legalities, I’m working alongside some UK expert rewilders and conservationists. I can’t disclose the species just yet, but I will be posting videos about it soon when the time is right.

Hello, what is the reason why the legs of canary chicks become crooked after a few days of age?

I found a hawfinch nest days ago and there was 4 baby and a parent but after 2 days ther is a storm happend where i live and after that there was only one baby and the mother was not coming to feed baby i watched for 1 day but mother was not coming and the baby was trying to jump from nest so i take it home and feed it (İ dont know his gender but i will call him he)baby was nearly dying i think he was werry sluggish then i feed him and now he is good he can fly but he cant eat without help we need to give food to his mouth he opens his mouth when we show our finger . We are feeding him but i think he is not happy i would feed him that okey for me i just want the best for the bird what should i do. Should i release him into nature or should i feed him at the home pls help.
