The wooden stand around the mast is called a "HORSE " as are all similar sections at the bow sprint. Also with the metal mitre box there's a deeper side that you place against the board etc that holds it still and put the part you are cutting against the back edge

Next time you run into an assembly like that, pre-drill the holes with a pin vise and a bit 0.1 to 0.2mm smaller than the shank on the eye. That way even if it ends up in a seam it won't matter. It will also give you the opportunity to mark where you need them to go and make them equidistant in relation to the holes above.

Once again a fantastic build video! She's really coming along nicely. Just a quick point: the belaying pins go onto the "Fife Rail" Its a strange name, but that's sailors for you! You might want to pre drill pilot holes for nails too to avoid that plank gap issue. Brilliant work! My Occre kit arrived... the kit and the materials are amazing. Really looking forward to getting stuck in!

According to wickopedea the belaying pins were used as cleats to fasten or store lines

Hello Alex, again very nice progress. It's just fun to watch. I think you took the wrong strip between the hull and deck, the gun ports are half covered. In the assembly instructions you can see that they are below the gun ports. As it is, you still need to polish it up.

Hello Marco! Happy new year and thank you for your support. The saw im using is the smaller saw i could get my hands on on a hardware store... Only that and Simple as that. About hand drills.. as you can see i use a dremmel and to be honest you can use a cheap one but in the end with a good and afordable set if micro drills dremmel is a good choice!

Its just a small satin spray coat.. just to give some protection i still haven t varnished completly the deck

They are indeed crude! I will try to have the time to paint and weathered it!

@@AlexModeling Also, Alex the cannons were secured by lots of cordage to the decks. I once did a painting of a sailing ship that took hours of research before I even started painting. The ropes on the cannons were a detail that I had trouble painting.
