I’m a guernsey man and I know madam Bihet and her late husband . I used to drive a bus and one day I had some holiday makers on my bus . A few Americans and one said the occupation never happened . So on the bus trip around I showed him the German bunkers and towers and when we stopped at pembroke I told them how us Guernsey people had suffered . 5 years is a long time to either be occupied or a way from home and the ones you love

Guernsey along with the other Channel Islands are not legally part of the UK, they are British Crown Dependencies.

@Professor McClaine Germany certainly underestimated Britain and they became too cocksure of themselves, to invade USSR and declare war on USA while Britain remained intact proved a disaster.
