I watched a few because I'm do to take care of a bed bound patient,and your video made it look real easy and I'm a little more confident after seeing this.

My biggest piece of advice is to watch your body positioning! Do not lift with your back or you may injure yourself. Raise the bed to waist height, stand with feet shoulder width apart, and use your legs to help move weight. Best of luck. - Ellis

I'm in a CNA class right now and it's a lot more extensive than this. We have to keep the resident covered at all times with a bath blanket, use a lift sheet and top sheet, and don and doff gloves at certain points. For some reason they say we're supposed to change the pillowcase at the end which doesn't seem right to me, but that's above my paygrade. Thanks for this video!

Is it safe to handle dirty/ soiled and clean linen without gloves?
@oreo-sr2pq Жыл бұрын
Dirty and soiled linen should ALWAYS be held with gloves. Clean linen doesn’t need to have gloves. Why would you need gloves if it’s clean?
@delphynebalentine69209 ай бұрын
@@oreo-sr2pq my lna teacher taught us gloves should always be worn when making the beds. You can always do more but never less. The only time gloves aren't worn is for feeding and hand washing.

Is it really necessary even now a days to do bed making?? Why not such works to be given to nursing assistants
@LevelUpRN Жыл бұрын
I would hope that any nurse, regardless of title, is willing to meet a patient's basic needs. If I have time then I will absolutely make a bed, ambulate a patient to the bathroom, change a brief, or feed someone their meal. It does not matter that it is a task the nursing assistant could do, I am going to do it. Teamwork is so important.
@WorldExplorerIndia Жыл бұрын
@@LevelUpRN Wonderful response but With the changing needs of patients and emerging technologies, I do feel that task shifting is very important and Nurses need to be prepared for higher roles in order to improve outcomes at large..

What is the name of the pad you using
@AmericanWoman1 Жыл бұрын
The pad wasn't smooth under her and in real life would have been uncomfortable/annoying at 4:20. I see these things because I am my adult daughters caretaker and she thankfully can tell me when something isn't right. That bothers her.
