I too have suffered from OCD since I was a teenager. It hit me out of the blue. That was over 45 years ago. I thought that something bad would happen to my family if I didn't do these rituals. I would have to pray a certain prayer over and over. It has taken many different themes over the years. Contamination, counting, checking and so on. I sort of lived a very happy life and learned to not care if I had to do the things. Four years ago, everything changed when I started having panic attacks and anxiety. It wasn't until then that I found out that OCD is anxiety. I fight daily with intrusive thoughts. They scare me. I would not wish this on anyone. Thanks for the videos, they help so much.

@@CrisC99 hey. well I have made progress. I am actually happy about that. But there is still some obstacles and it is hard. Sometimes I feel like I have done enough to live normally. but that's not true.. But it's hard to go further. Thanks for checking up on me :)

@lalumierehuguenote
@lalumierehuguenote 4 жыл бұрын
@@humbertorangel19881 Hey dear sir, well there has been progress in some areas, and not in others. I would say I am doing better. But I am still holding on to a desire for certainty and things "the right way", it is hard to let go, and accept the feelings that bother me if I don't do the rituals. But for certain things I don't feel the need to go the compulsions or I decreased them quite substantially. I know I will have to come to full acceptance, but I keep postponing... TL;DR I have made progress that easy my life quite a bit, but there are still challenges that I don't feel ready to face. How about you, what'sup ?

I'm feeling positive. I can overcome this as they are just thoughts and if they hang on, they can as it's mind's one of all properties. I need to ignore as they are thoughts and haven't any real proof that horrify me.

Is so hard for me sometime. By a while I have the thought that I dont want to escape the intrusive thoughts, that something bad will happend to me, a thought like I dont want to be good😐My intrusive thoughts in generaly are about myself, the way I think and act. When i feel a reliefe or peace and calm i come with the thought that I want to feel again bad or anxious. Is like I m fighting with myself. Does anyone ever had these thoughts?

Hey Matt I’ve been struggling with anxiety ocd for a while now. I’ve been struggling with the thought that even if I take steps toward recovery that this will still be a lifelong illness and how much could it really get better. This thought consumes me because everywhere I look it says ocd anxiety disorders never go away. In your experience do the thoughts/anxiety fade away over time throughout recovery? Or is this something I will have to accept for the rest of my life 😟. I appreciate the information you provide 😀

Don't search for information or read about that, it enhances your obsession. Anyway, they say you can't recover from ocd because they are psychiatrists...and they don't know that some mental deseases can be healed through psychotherapy or different techniques, as mindfulness. Don't listen to them. Practice what is explained on this channel.

Hello, I am struggling with ocd and i have one question for you. Behind my yard there is a tin from beer that i got obsessed that i need to take it and throw it away to rubish bin. Of course as a person with ocd i started to fight with this thought.... I am sure you know what i did. For example i have started to ruminate about this, i have told myself that i dont need to to this. I have started to judge my thought. And here i am.. of course it has become even worse. And i ask you for advice. What should i do? Leave this tin till end of my days and dont care what will happen with this. Because now i have urge to throw this away or should i just throw this to rubbish bin, but i am scared that if i do this i will close the loop. You know feel relief and then my brain will send me more of this kind obsessions for react, control this thought and then release dopamine... that how to close the loop. So here i am with my ocd and ask u for advice. What should i do?

I suggest u see a therapist who offers erp as treatment. U will be told to face ur fears and avoid doing compulsions. A good therapist will recognize ur source of obsessions and also recognize the compulsions u do. Eventually ocd will go down .Hope that helps consult a good therapist who offers erp.
