This tutorial deals with the static collider node in respect of ocean simulations. It might sound a bit niche but this node is fundamental in shaping water interaction and the tutorial discusses many other aspects of water simulation whilst all the time keeping the workflow optimized and the caching times low.
Every Houdini student should have a bit of water interaction on their showreel, and this will help you get there without caning your machine for weeks!
