We love Ocean Cay (been there in both 2022 and 2023) and I can't believe how much the palms have grown since this was filmed. Looks even more amazing now. And yes, there are shady spots to pull a lounger into.

It’s refreshing to see a video about Ocean Cay that is more positive than negative. I saw items that I haven’t heard about before. Thanks for the different perspective, I appreciate it! Love the video 💜

Great Piece! Thanks! I plan my MSC cruises based on the stay(s) at Ocean Cay. There is a cruise this fall that stops at the island two days, once from 7 am to 6pm, and once from 7am til 11pm. I loved the uncrowded beaches, food, drinks, couple of nice shops better than any shop on most ships, and the night time sail away was a rare event on a cruise. Also, you rarely get to see your cruise ship all lit up while not being on board. At Ocean Cay you can enjoy seeing the ship from all areas of the island, especially a sight if you are lucky enough to be there til late in the evening. It's so nice- there is no 1 mile walk or taxi needed. You walk down the ramp and you are at the entrance to your paradise.

That's right. It's neat, but when we were one the island, we didn't really see much or hear much about it (only in passing). For us it wasn't a big part of the experience.

We were there in October twice, including an overnight visit which was cool. Love the island. I think shade has improved a lot since your video. Getting bar service was terrible overall. The buffet was far from great as well. More and more, I'm seeing getting to the pier can be a challenge for the Captain. We were delayed several hours by currents on one of our trip and I see a lot of similar comments lately. It is a very tight channel and turning basin. It was pretty impressive seeing the ship turn in such a tight area thoughh.

I've heard another vlogger mention the carts sharing the walkways as a concern (major concern in his case). I don't quite get it. The walkways are wide and the drivers careful. My spouse is legally blind, and we don't have concerns about walking the paths. We walk the entire island each time. In fact, we've never taken one of the shuttles to get around, though that would certainly be an option for anyone that did have this concern about sharing the walkways with carts.

I'm confused. The title says Ocean Cay..... pronounced C - A - Y, with an A, but you keep saying Ocean Key, pronouncing it K - E - Y, with an E. Other than being confused by what the real name of the Port is, it was an informative video. Thank you!
@TheWestlandgirl3 жыл бұрын
Maritime Ports and such pronounce it as key
@billcook47683 жыл бұрын
Since the days of pirates, “cay” was pronounced “key.” It’s only recently that pronouncing it to rhyme with “day” has become accepted. Today, either is fine.
