I heard about them closing the island down early next year to do some updates.I was thinking how cool would it be if they installed a handful of glamping spots/tent spots that if you pay for it on those overnight port stays you can spend the night out under the stars of a private island. I'd pay extra for that.

Just disembarked this morning July 18, 2024. What an amazing cruise! 4 night Bahamas with overnight at Ocean Cay. Table service food very good and service attentive. Buffet: excellent! Pizza: excellent! Theater shows: Bravissimo!!! Broadway quality for sure. Ocean Cay: wonderful beaches, with plenty to walk and roam all cardinal points. It's two islands joined by a bridge that creates a channel. In this channel we encountered two baby great white sharks (ok, nurse sharks 😅) a 3ft and a six footer .....they were pretty friendly and stood by us.....of course, wife and some others were freaked out by their site but these were harmless although they look like the real things except they have NO TEETH. THe water is clear, warm and inviting. No rip currents to worry about...and the deepest part is about 6-7 feet. You will enjoy MSC and we will continue to cruise with them as they provide great value!

You CAN take shells from beaches in the bahamas. That is, if you're returning to the USA. Im not sure about other countries. The only requirement is that you wash the shells.

I thought the prices in the gift shop on the island were very expensive, yes, they have to import everything onto the island, make sure to buy a lot of sunscreen before your trip or any other essentials. These items are very expensive on the ship or on the island.

Don’t go in July! Hot and humid. Not a fan of any of the corporate islands. The scheduled upgrade will hopefully cure a lot of issues. We did the yacht club section, bring water shoes. Also I can’t recommend the high priced cabana. The furniture needs replacement. The butlers and waiters are great but way over worked

I have been there 9 times and there are parts of the island you can’t go to and there is not that much to do I go the yacht club beach and there are to many rocks in the water so bring some water shoes

The correct English pronunciation for Cay is “key”, like Key West. The English rule only changes if it is a Spanish island name, wish is not the case here.

Cash for tips? This is a cruise you don't tip cash until the end if you want to at all. Tips are included in your by a daily charge.

Bad organisation, my husband and i got 2 rooms on the very opposite side of the ship, since we have a family of 5 ( 3 young kids) we HAVE TO buy 2 rooms to fit our family, but they guaranteed that we would be close to each ether. So not true and we just discovered that on board , nobody had a solution for our problem, it was a total caos after that. No real vacancy. I don't recommend to buy MSC for anyone. Beside they charged 120USD/pers mandatory for tip. And we didn't use one of the rooms, we have slept all together at the biggest one. There are better options, same price!

Just came off MSC Seascape. Will NEVER cruise again with them. Dinners were nasty except for two nights and after that I thought the Chef jumped overboard. Staff were rude in buffet area. No little cafe to get a snack at night. You must go to the buffet where they served pizza EVERY night. If you never cruise with any other lines you won't be able to compare but I will never travel with them again.
