@@JamesHargreavesGuitarSeconded, James. I wish you well and I’m confident you’ll go from strength to strength. For my part, I particularly enjoyed your investigative musical journalism style videos. I bet they’re time consuming as anything. For example, the “Oasis Conspiracy” videos are honestly, next-level, near-cinema quality scripts.

James, I’m from Kings Heath in Brum and not only saw Oasis at the NIA the week OCS knocked them off #1, they brought Steve out to play on Champagne Supernova. I ran into Steve at local pub, he was eyeballing the girl I was with at a show.

Hi mate I used to go over there to see some bands, back in the early 90s. The place was called The Station if I remember rightly .....Is it still there by any chance? Seeing that loads of pubs have closed down in recent years, I don't suppose it's open any more.

It's nice to hear some rocknroll stories from the 90s! Even I got flung out of The Garage in London with my own (sadly never made it) band Big White Stairs. We supported ocs a few times. Anyway I am the worlds best behaved musician yet a combination of the 90s vibes and speed and stella artois had me and the other guitarist lobbing pints at each each other until we were lifted up and properly chucked out.these days you'll be lucky if someone says something offensive about another band on Facebook. Rocknroll

Underrated band for sure. I was at both Loch Lomand gigs and whilst they were excellent - it was the Beatles that I especially enjoyed, they were so spot on, even down to mannerisms. Great couple of days that were that good - I don't remember much!! Ebenezer really was good 😉🇬🇧✌

A bands most overlooked album is often their best…..I have stolen this quote from somewhere…..I always thought that OCS next 2 albums sounded like they were trying to fit with what was happening….well it worked, paid for the nice country houses! There’s a song on Marching that sounds like Crowded House….anyone else ever thought that too?

"Davie got us down, but we got away". Not just OCS. Dave Bates was a notorious old-school record exec, with an alleged fondness for nose chalk, who presided over the Fontana label in the early 90s. In fact, Phonogram re-activated the label, which had been dormant since the late 60s, especially for him to run. Bates was the big man at the time, in part due to the fact that he'd made Tears for Fears massive international stars, and he was infamous for his hands-on approach to A&R. If you read David Cavanagh's brilliant My Magpie Eyes are Hungry for the Prize, he recounts in detail the hell that the House of Love went through when they signed to Fontana, and the extreme pressure they were under to sell records to recoup the massive advance they were given (reputedly the best part of a million quid).

Andy McDonald is actually a bit of a tit. My band were going to sign to Indpendiente via Rik Blaxill, former producer of Top Of The Pops who was the head of A&R at the time and had seen us play at T In The Park. Rik had joined Independiente because McDonald had promised him carte blanche to sign whoever he wanted. McDonald came to the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen for one of our gigs, stayed for two songs, and fucked off. We had an extra guy playing guitar with us that night, and apparently he didn't like that and left in a huff. He didn't even bother to speak to us at all. Anyway, our deal was negotiated by a lawyer called Mark Wilkins, and we were due to go down and sign it on a Wednesday. Andy McDonald spat the dummy about details of the deal and had a massive argument with Blaxill, who promptly quit! And we got a call on the Friday before saying "the deal's off, we'll pay your expenses". We didn't have any contact with McDonald at all, not even a courtesy. Knob.

Oh, is that what it’s about? I’ll check it out. Personally, taking sides in a war is next level dumb. Do people really not understand that all wars are at the behest of the most powerful elites? “All wars are bankers wars” is, unfortunately, correct. So while I definitely see the suffering and the innocent, they are on all sides. I’m not taking sides against innocent people in either “side” in such deliberately created, lethal conflicts.
