Even more than that, there is no way the designer, nor Sandra Bullock was not a suspect, even the main suspect. Because she came into the party under a false name and pretended to be german, which sets off every red flag ever considering her past. And the designer is who got then necklace out of the vault. They never get away with this

Omar Holder chill bruh. Just watch the film again. They explained later the James Corden’s character would help pin it on Debbie’s ex, which we can assume he did. Even if later somebody find out that Rose had the most motive and evidence pointing to her, Claude was already convicted. Tbh, though, that’d make a decent plot for a second installment.

@@IchibotK I am very chill and I don't need to watch it again. The plot doesn't hold up. That doesn't mean the movie can't be enjoyable but it's a fact. Just because the movie says the insurance investigator wouldn't be that interested in who stole it, which would be a lie in real life, that doesn't explain the lack of interest from actual law enforcement, like the FBI. For instance, the designer was said to owe like 6 million dollars in taxes and she was under investigation from the IRS. When she suddenly appears able to pay off all the fines and avoid jail time out of nowhere, red flag. When someone rewinds the footage and notices that random new employee who only came on a couple weeks before the event, who then quit immediately after was the one who found the fake necklace. They only created one blind spot. She took that fake out in plain view of the cameras. She's caught for sure. Again Sandra and her antics would under scrutiny and someone would definitely see when she went into the kitchen, to the random broom closet to collect something from that Indian dishwasher. Point being, creating one blind spot wouldn't solve their problems of being seen on all the other cameras. They would have been better off full wiping the security system. The movie wanted to be clever, but ended up not being very smart.

Omar Holder tbh, I think the bar for cleverness may have been set too high. Anyhow, I’m actually 100% agreeing with that. I noticed it right around the end of the film when Rose got her own store. That was a red flag for me too and it made me think back to how easily it would’ve been to catch them. Compare this to the _Ocean’s Eleven_ scene, in which the crew steals the “pinch” from UC Irvine. Including Danny, four went in-no masks, cameras likely every other corner. Is that not the same risk? Also, yea it does seems like it was well within the detective Franklin’s power to put Debbie away, especially since he’d already put both Danny and their dad away. But recall that Debbie offered to pay him off. There’s no closure on his character (and Claude’s), which is one of my very few criticisms, so we don’t know if he took the bribe or not. Anyway, it’s not a perfect film or anything, but it does have tons of moments pandering to fans of the entire Ocean’s franchise e.g. moments that are entertaining to normal movie goers, but are actually call backs to earlier movies.
