@nigelholland3 just because they didnt play loud doesnt mean they're not good. txsu mostly focus's on balance meaning to where you can hear every section in the band and not just brass and percussion. remember loud only means you're loud. im not saying the boom sounded bad i would sometimes like to hear the boom's woodwinds. but to TxSU got this one. you were able to hear everyone play and the percussion section wasnt playing over the band.

OCEAN won this mostly because they sounded better and there werent any hangeovers and they ended every song together. JSU you need to learn to end a song together also if you're not ready to play a song dont that song. cause you guys messed up on coming back in after the drum break on not afraid. just my observation. im not hating on the BOOM im just juding this the way a judge would judge this battle as if it were like UIL or something

jsu got cranked on and outplayed. txsu has all around better tone, range, and musicallity. txsu won. And for jsu to be soooo big they ain't sounding like they have all them people. and one song it sound like they don't know their music and jsu always hang over at the end of their songs. Is that what ya'll call music? I hope ya'll band director don't find it exceptable to blast 24/7 and distort your tone quality and hang over. If he does then you may want one who really know music.

Good Battle! Both bands brought it!! Neither was really "weak", JSU is BIGGER so they are SUPPOSE TO BE LOUDER!! And did JSU change the arrangement of Not Afraid or was that a mess up by the btones? (They came in very weak after the tbone break) They killed that part at the boombox classic. Just wondering. I like both bands tho. I would've loved to see this years Boom up against the 2006 Ocean!!

I love it JSU, Dude was yappin and ya'll just started yankin'. Screw announcers at a head to head competition. As for the battle. JSU trumpets are stronger by a decent margin (partly due to numbers). Gotta give it to the boom. TxSU ain't no joke though. If TxSU could ever pile up them JSU numbers it would be scary in terms of volume. It most have been a great day for the spectators.
