@@AnnaKoehnArt the weather changed and it's really cold in my craft room 😔. I've got to set up a space heater in there before I can give it a go. I've never tried a 2 part resin before, but I know I have to at least get the space up to 70°f for the cure. Other than that I've got everything I need and I've already picked my colors and prepped my boards. 😊

That's the challenge about winter and resin!@@kriskriskris32 I hear you. My studio is in the basement as well. One little cheat that I've used is to warm the resin up in a "water bath" before, during, or after mixing. Basically you stick your resin container inside another container with very warm water in it. The warm water around your resin container warms up the resin and allows it to be easier to work with when the weather is cold. Of course that doesn't solve the problem about curing. Does it have to be 70 degrees the whole time it cures or just when you are pouring?

Are you using a raw wood board? If so, how do you prepare the board before applying epoxy? If the board was purchased with a coating on it, can you epoxy over it for the wave?

Hi! Thanks so much for watching and leaving this question! It's a great one. Interestingly, I did nothing to the board except clean it with a little rubbing alcohol! Since then I have started prepping my boards by sanding them first, and applying tape or latex to the underside. However, even without prepping the epoxy did adhere to the board just fine! So you can probably skip the prepping, but if you want to be safe, just sand a little bit on the area you plan to epoxy. Then after you are done with the project, restore the board's shine with a little food-grade mineral oil.

It baffles me that why do you use a transparent colouring if you don't want the board to be seen. You could have used opaque pigment and you would get it but in the video you had to make 3 layers to achieve with. Didn't get why at all.

@@AnnaKoehnArt But you use a lot of resin to achieve it which raises the cost. Instead you can just do one layer of opaque and a very thin layer of second opaque gives the depth. Honestly I loved your waves its great and you are very talented. It's just seeing the board through the epoxy is not smooth in terms of visuality and you just spend too much time,energy and money for the depth. Just my two cents..
