@@nandanasalvi Yes, because she did that means she was not trained. Had her senior noticed or come to know they would have suspended or terminated her. They r trained to be very courteous n polite. They r suppose to handle such situations such that customers don't feel embarassed. Actually they r supposed to gauge and use the language that the customer would understand without making the customer feel that they do not know English. Well groomed staff would've done that.

@@nandanasalvi I think this must be happening in small towns I have seen people in small towns do have so called small town mentalities. They think just because they know English they are very special If you come to mumbai you will realise that nobody is proud of knowing English, English is commonly used because that is the common language There are few who do not know Hindi and hence English becomes common language And if somebody doesn't know English nobody makes them feel embarrassed Happy that I didn't grow up in one of these towns, in such a place

I live in Germany where nobody cares to learn or speak English, nor they care for American pronounciation of any word. Even the menu card is in native language not in English.Starbucks is a status symbol in India, in other countries its just another cafe. So next time if u go to any such place, feel free to talk in Hindi and if u dont understand what to order, just feel free to ask. The staff comes from very ordinary background not from Ambanis family. Be yourself dont get obsessed by western culture.

I was a bit amused when I saw the title of the video since I felt this is a frivolous topic. However, I went through the video out of curiosity and actually ended up learning a few useful things. I generally avoid these cafes since I don't find their coffee to be anywhere as good as (the vastly cheaper) authentic South Indian filter coffee. But I do end up going to such cafes once in a while especially in social settings, so it's good to be aware of some of the details you walked us through. And more importantly, it's always a pleasure to learn something new. Thanks for making this video. On a different note, we shouldn't feel embarrassed or self conscious in places we consider high end. I understand that if we visit these places for work related matters, making a good impression by appearing to 'blend in' might seem important. But what actually matters is your core substance - whether you can deliver good quality work, and so on. Other superficial stuff fades away quickly.

We both didn’t know what espresso exactly was because it was the cheapest option among the other coffee choices 🤣. We were shocked to see the concentrated black coffee liquid at the bottom of each glass. We glanced at each other and laughed. We felt embarrassed, but no one really noticed except the waiter who was serving us. We ended up ordering cappuccinos after that 😭. So embarrassing!! Hahaha.

Hi , I agree with you that it is nice if you know the names of all the coffee that is served at Starbucks but I definitely don't agree with you on this that you feel embarrassed if you are not able to pronounce the name of the coffee correctly at the Starbucks , because the staff of Starbucks is so well groomed , they are so well trained and they are so hospitable and so polite that they never make you feel embarrassed about any thing. In fact if you want to enquire about particular coffee they will tell you the difference between different coffees and they will help you select the one that you like .. so I really don't agree with this that they would look up and down and then embarrass..the Starbucks staff is so nice and so kind that I have myself seen them so many times helping the beggars on the road, giving them free coffee free water free snacks and everything.. so please stop blaming them or stop targeting them just because they are working in a high end coffee shop . thank you

Well, u gave it to her in a very sophisticated way. Fantastic !!! She is trying to convince people that it is 'beijjati' if u can't pronounce, because she wants to promote her videos. She needs people to watch her videos to stay in business. I can bet she is not english conversant n can neither write nor read nor speak the language at a length. Doubt if she can say more than few sentences which she has tutored herself to. Most foreigners cannot pronounce our names be it dishes or otherwise n they don't feel embarassed about it. Meaning, Beijjat, cause that embarass will be too above her. Her attitude is suggestive she is a novice to english. And more importantly it is perfectly fine to order in hindi or local language. Hindi will work all across india except south n may b few places in NE. Plus everything is always explained on a menu. N more imp. except for metros, majority of people r not english conversant. N they can well afford the so called high end shops

Exactly ma'am like my mindset apko jeevan ki har luxary life ko enjoy karni chahiye isliye toh kama rahe h atleast sab kuch sochkr nhi jayenge nhi karenge toh kbhi v age nhi badh payenge ❤
0:59 colonial mindset se niklenge nahi. Waha tak to jana hee hai.kyun? Star bucks me jane ko koi achievement ke jaise kyun bata rahe ho aap? Aur kaha ki luxury? Kaisee luxury? Mehnat ki, paseene ki kamayi ko jaker chand minuto ki jhoothi shaan ke liye udaa dena, murkhata hai. Yuvavon in sab dokhavon me na pado be practical.

Good on you for being the good changemaker! 💛 The person judging you has got nothing on you, is much less modern in their mindset than you are and no one ever has any right to judge you.... And hope you would continue being this person and learn from your experiences to be empathetic instead yourself.... Take the higher road that mindset is what makes you the truly classy person... the beautiful intelligent spirit that you are! Lots of love lady :)
