I'm getting back to the guitar after 15+ years and just found your channel. This is awesome!

@@oceanographic Thanks Dan :) I might have some questions at some point. For now I am looking for the first pedals to buy to be able to paint with guitar and synth as I imagine it. There are so many options today, it is mad.

I do miss a fade out stop in the blooper also. Thanks mate, great comparison and video!

Just recently got a blooper and I’m both so excited and intimidated by it. Been looping for a long time, and curious how blooper is going to contribute. Have you had experience with the Count to Five? If so, how do you feel it compares to the Revolver in this application?

Have you checked out the CBA MOOD for micro looping? If so, how does it compare to the Revolver?

I'm moving into similar fields using the H9 looper and exp pedal or step sequencer

This is great. Getting more into technique and concepts. As a fellow looper before I knew what it was. I appreciate different ways to look at a static loop. And find ways to make it interesting. That’s the problem with looping. What do you do with it?

Was interested by Andy Othlings approach of having two loopers in a parallel mixer
@spltrcl5 жыл бұрын
that's been my approach, since 1981. continuously. but i can switch my parallel to series when i feel like it (manually, easy), and i also keep 2 differing reVolvers in my dry chain (lol) ALWAYS in series since 2014..... which can, but doesn't need to, feed my parallel looper(s) directly.

david T Any statement about looping techniques comes with the implied caveat “and David Torn has been doing this for decades”. Love your work!

Hi Dan, I've been loving your videos. Thanks for taking the time. I have a couple questions related to your finger playing, as it's something that I want to get better at (been using a pick most of my life). Is there any kind of "technique" or "method" that you use? Second, do you use your fingers or your fingernails? cheers and congrats!

I'm not familiar with the Hexe Revolver, but from this video it seems like the Chase Bliss MOOD may have more in common with it than Blooper's sampler mode for capture glitchy/singular moments??

I've also thought this might be the case! I wonder if Dan has any thoughts....?

I’ve got a revolver dx and mood. The revolver basically has 8 modes/styles, 2 of which self trigger continuously after engaging. The others are triggered by tapping the foot switch as you want to record. The Mood only has 3 modes/styles and the response time is way slower when tapping the foot switch to record. But the thing Mood does that the revolver can’t is the envelope triggered mode. It also has built in delay/reverb. The response time is what sets the hexe apart from all the other glitch pedals. But the mood is one of easiest most fun pedals around.

If I may add something I'd say that the Red Panda Tensor micro looping and mangling ability would it make it a likely contestant. Particularly as the Hexe is impossible to find.

@@delkel9delkel914 How much did you pay for the Revolver?
@delkel9delkel9143 жыл бұрын
@@danielleinad6019 It was 385 Euro including shipping from Germany to Australia. I was on the wait list for 6 months back in 2017.

Have you ever tried the Hologram Microcosm?
@nicruleggia5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, I wonder what is your experience in achieving those sounds with more accessible gear (I think the hexe is discontinued...?). In order to get my microsamples, I use the hold modes of the boss dd3 and dd5, but lack their modifying capabilities of course. Also, did you try the red panda tensor?
@oceanographic5 жыл бұрын
Haven't tried a Tensor yet, but it's on the list.
@danielettorre12395 жыл бұрын
Hexe isn’t discontinued, Piotr still makes the revolver. He now makes the DX-L, which has two minutes of loop time, as opposed to the 4 seconds of the original DX. The wait list is usually around 6 months, but you can still get on it if you Email Piotr.
@beyondthegong4 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the Hexe DX-L was a small limited edition run. Piotr is apparently still making the standard -DX pedal. If you want one, just contact him to get on the wait-list..
