I really liked the camera setup you had on this video Rahdo. Really easy to see what was going on and the green screen cam where you could read the cards made everything really easy to follow. Thank you!

yah that deep sea unique cards is what was missing for me from evolution to make it interesting. I felt maybe too limited in repeat abilities and so on....I cant put my finger on why i didnt like it too too much but i think I can now that I watched this....this makes it way more exciting. the events too.

Excited to see you run through this. I am patiently waiting for my copy which is held up by coronavirus. Love your set up, especially the close up on the cards, great feature.

Video actually seduced me to move my copy of Oceans to the front of my Play list. So i read all of the rules and started. I know this was more of a gameplay video, but just wanted to point out for other people that before you do anything, you flip over the first Trait card, and you migrate that number from the Reef and FIRST ocean and put those fish into the 3rd Ocean : )

The first player starts with the 0 points bonus, the second player gets the 4 point token. Played this last night, good game, gets better as you get deeper into it.

Oops, my mistake, ignore that, you got it right (as usual)!

This looks like a great variant of the Evolution series. An observation, the filter feeder never suffers overpopulation.

yup, that was me being a doofus. it's noted in the klingon subtitles :)

Right from the beginning, instead of evolving, migrate, migrate, migrate (from the cambrian container) into the reef, allowing your opponents to foster a large filter feeder ecosystem, until you hit the cambrian explosion by turn 3 or 4 (no one can attack you as you have no species), meanwhile collect the best of the deep cards, lay them out by turn 5 or 6 and devour the chickens of the sea!

Inking on your own filter feeder and Draconic on another of your species would generate a near endless cycle of Reef food if you attacked, then foraged -- back and forth.!

I saw this when it was on kickstarter, really pretty cool

For the last feeding phase you could've fed the filter feeder twice with tentacles, so the impostor feeder would get one fish from the whale cleaner twice

Why does the card at 45:12 appear to be animated?
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
that's an artifact of the green screen technique i'm filming with. since that portion of the card is a bit green, a bit of it is disappearing because it was too close in color to the greenscreen background i film on...

Around 8.39. You make it seem like when the enemy unit forages you can use symbiotic. I know nothing about ocean. But know about evolution. In evolution symbiotic only works to your own species to the right. Not with the enemy players. So just curious if I was interpreting your video wrong or if the video was right and it does work that way?

this game offers a LOT more overlap between players like this than original evolution did :)

I don't get why that game does not have such a mechanic to branch a specie
@nahailyenvanakkor3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by branch a species?
@ChuYat-hang4 жыл бұрын
The rightmost spices should age 3 instead of 2 because of the schooling and the explosion.
