Okay so here’s my thoughts: Karen grew up as an only child, until she got a little sister. Karen’s parents forgot about Karen and only focused on her “perfect” younger sister Charlotte. When they got older, Charlotte got into a lot of pageants and won them all. She even became miss universe. Karen just watched from the sideline and was very jealous of her sister. Therefore, Karen started on pageants too, but lost and never won a single one. When Karen grew up, she married the hottest man available, only because her sister already married a millionaire. Later Karen got 2 children, Joanna E and Mason. To achieve her shattered childhood dreams, she makes Joanna e compete in pageants, but still loves mason,, he’s just not what she need to achieve her goal.
