Once you listen to their song Massive Bereavement you can never go back. That song is absolutely insane in the best of ways.

Oceansize is one of the best prog bands ever imo. Very overlooked. Everyone Into Position is my favourite album by them. Just an absolute classic. Their first 3 albums all are.

I agree 100%. Huge fan of all their stuff, but EIP is the one I go back to most often. Greatest thing about them is that all 4 albums are very different but all very much Oceansize. And love MfaN as an EP. That brand of the band was dark and rather mysterious. And SPATBFO has grown on me very much. So grateful to have what we do from the band.

Yep... The whole Everyone Into Position album is special to me. Music for a Nurse is the highlight though, one of the most beautiful songs ever? Probably

Musical fact: They got there name from Jane's Addictions song "Oceansize" off Nothing's Shocking and the prog band IamtheMorning got their name from the first song off of Effloresce

Oceansize is probably my favorite band. Mike Vennart the lead singer has his own band now called Vennart, as well as British Theatre and tours with Biffy Clyro. Please check out more of their stuff it’s brilliant! As a matter of fact you should watch their Feed to Feed DVD of live performances. Impeccable!!! You would probably also like Amplifier as well they are so good too! Airborne and Panzer are two of my favorites off their self titled album, and Matmos and The Wheel off Echo Street.

Nice! I can totally see where the "alternative" comes in. Im getting a little Soundgarden vibe. Teens in the 90's woulda dug it. _I_ dig it! Good call, Louie! 👍

They have this very listenable quality to them. Sometimes prog gets overwhelming. But they make it easy to listen to in a way. Are you in the mood for something complex? Put on Oceansize. Are you in the mood for something beautiful? Put on Oceansize. They really have their own sound. Very reminiscent of Porcupine Tree in a way. Steven Wilson cited them as one of his favorite bands I believe, which isn't surprising.

I first heard of them while deployed to Iraq. This song became the theme of that deployment. Such a creative and tight sounding band. Such a disappointment that they broke up.

The members are all scattered doing session and touring work for other bands, however their lead singer has a solo project called Vennart that's very much worth the listen. Check it out.

A lot of the writing is Vennart, Gambler, and Durose and so is the playing. The last album had a lot of the late Oceansize feel. Vennart and Gambler have been touring with Biffy and Vennart and Simon Neil are putting out a doomy album under Empire State Bitch and will be playing Hellfest I think

Really love this band and have been buying their albums throughout. Great live band also. They released a brilliant limited boxset of DVDs and CDs of live recordings , playing all 3 (at the time) of their studio albums over 3 nights at the Roadhouse in Manchester. There is also a terrific in studio live DVD recording of the album Frames which came with the CD of the studio album on its release. I was so disappointed when they broke up. According to Wikipedia, the menbers all went on to various projects, joining other bands including Amplifier and Biffi Clyro and a others I've never heard. A very influential band crossing grunge with prog, This is where Porcupine Tree got their prog metal inspiration.

Excellente! Hard hitting but melodic. Lots of cool sounds going on. Will add this to my morning “ wake the hell up” playlist. I’m breaking in my new sound system and this song sounds great. Subwoofer needs a little tweaking though.
