28:04 That’s the thing, Toga’s bloodlust when she was a child was never depicted to be dangerous to others. In the flashbacks we got, we saw her drinking the blood of a bird that was already dead, and licking the wound of her friend who was already bleeding. She never was the one inflicting harm, she was being more opportunistic. But her parents didn’t understand this and made her feel so unwanted, so unaccepted that she overcorrected WAY too hard by killing others to drink their blood. It’s interesting because there’s a very real chance that she could have lived a safe, fulfilling life if she just had someone like Uraraka in her youth instead of being pushed over the edge
@legoboy468
@legoboy468 17 сағат бұрын
Exactly. I think they missed the fact that Toga’s desire to drink blood was never harmful in and of itself. It may be weird, but as long as the blood is given voluntarily or from dead animals it’s not wrong. Their extreme reaction to clamp down on her drinking blood at all is what led to her murdering people, if they’d been more supportive of her: taught her boundaries but also found a way to give her a blood supply, she’d be a regular person now. It’s the stigma around it that led to her becoming a criminal. They’re ironically falling into the same trap her parents did by telling her to completely deny her urges.

Ochako wasn't jealous of Toga because of Deku 😭 she said it was because her smile was beautiful and came so naturally. I think Kenny and Montana didn't give Toga enough credit in this episode, they always thought she was going to end up killing Ochako, but Ochako did see enough in her and decided it was worth risking everything to reach her.

Fun fact: Spinner's Villain name suggestion of "Vampiress Carmilla" references the character Carmilla from the novella of the same name, a vampire who preys upon a young woman. So it wasn't until she said how easily she falls in love with people and animals AND when she makes the comment "Jin's blood is leaving me" that I understood her fully. It isn't bloodlust like I had thought this entire time. Sharing their blood is a form of connection for her. She was just built different unfortunately for her. Her way of bonding with things was not socially acceptable but it was her way of forming intense connections with the people and animals she loved. We kiss and hug the people we love to express our bond and affections. Her way, in a really screwed up way, I can see as being even more powerful and intimate! But she was scorned by society and her parents for it. Being told "you can't love like that!" is gonna mess any person up.

The monster toga image is by far the most amazing scene ever.. its so hauntingly tragic, beautiful, hopeful(?) and just a mess of all things emotional for me. As someone who was always much more invested in the todoroki storyline i was so suprised that this brought out i think more feelings from me i was sobbing as well lol this ep was amazing! Also something that I just realized on my 100th rewatched now, the fact that toga was born with a quirk that some people would say doomed her from the start, that influenced her to have 'evil' tendencies of drinking blood and ultimately be a killer... but then the moment that she fully wants to embrace all that is evil and bad and wanting to kill and destroy everything as she says here.....her quick doesn't properly work as it should... that the core foundation of her power should be love and now that she doesn't want to feel that anymore her quirk isn't to its full potential. Idk its just so interesting. Toga is such a complicated character and this is just another instance of her being a walking contradiction ugh so good i love this show

Helping someone in need doesn’t always mean saving them from burning buildings or rescuing someone from falling from a great height. Sometimes, this is what helping someone in need looks like. Uraraka reached out to someone who was lashing out at the world for what it did to her, and was able to provide the one thing she needed, a heart to heart.

Toga and Ochako's interactions were some of the most interesting in the earlier seasons, and now they have a *spectacular* payoff in an abaolutely tearjerking way. Ochako is the first person outside of the League to truly understand and offer a hand to Toga, and it just goes to show that if Toga was understood in the way she deserved to be as a child, she wouldn't be a villain today.

*I’ve always really liked Uraraka. Since the beginning she’s been nothing but selfless and willing to help others. Even those she doesn’t really know. She’s a true hero.* *When it comes to Toga, many people believe that she doesn’t deserve the kindness that Uraraka sent her way. And in some ways, I can understand why they feel that way. But to a hero, whether or not someone “deserves” to be saved usually isn’t a factor. What matters is that if someone needs saving. It’s a hero’s job to help people in need.* *Uraraka has always been extremely powerful. Her quirk, fighting ability, and determination is extremely impressive. But to me, her empathy is what makes her stand out the most here. It takes a strong person to look at someone like Toga and accept that she needs to be saved.* *Also, this is the second time Uraraka has made me super emotional in the second to last episode of a season. She’s amazing… :,)*

Ok just finished watching. Sadly u guys still misunderstand Toga just a lot... Did not touch upon how she was always told to be abnormal, to have a scary smile. Ochacco was one of the first validations she got in her life just to smile without worrying. She actually loves Deku why tf do u say she's not?? The point is, this is how she loves. While u feel the urge to kiss, to hold hands when u love people, she feels the urge to stab and drink blood. But that doesnt allow u to dismiss her love. She could have got help, if people are ready to offer blood to her like Ochacco did. Then she would never have to suppress her feelings if the important ones in her life are understanding like Ochacco.

Well we’re really starting to get to the core of Toga’s confused emotions and actions, and Toga is REALLY putting up more defenses to keep Uraraka back. (Split between episode halves. This one is when Toga starts transforming to many other people) Tsu has been pretty substantially wounded and now Toga is starting to take on the forms of every wounded hero present. Tsu, Jiro, and she’s throwing herself in for good measure to never let anyone be close as she keeps swinging the monster about to separate people. Defeating even ONE double just opens up the respawning to restart from the double that remade them. And Toga’s true emotions are truly starting to come out. She’s feeling genuine abandonment and LIKE schizophrenia…there’s often pushback something is wrong and you instinctively want to pull away in response to someone trying to get close. In this case? Ochako is trying to get close, and Toga decides to slam the door shut on her preemptively. Most would hide or ghost, she puts Ochako on a timer by stabbing her. And now we just have to hope Ochako has the energy to keep herself going. Toga has no familial connection and has only found solace in the league filling various roles for themselves in their own family. And the joys and connection she’s found with them are getting continuously severed by the heroes as she seeks those that let her be herself. Mr Compress, Spinner, Twice, Magne, Touya, and the ongoing effort to stop Shigaraki at all costs, keeps coming at the cost of her connections. (Magne was killed by Overhaul, but she responded to Magne’s death the same way and she despised being covert for them) They want her to have her unique identification and have a villain name, as it ordinarily locks in who they are NOW instead of who they used to be. Spinner is Shuichi Iguchi AFTER he woke up from Stain’s rallying cry, Dabi is Touya after the world and himself pronounced himself dead, Jin Bubaigawara is broken morphed combo of his personalities he accidentally formed and couldn’t keep track of, and so on. Toga surely would like to lock in who she is…but she doesn’t. She found pride in who she was despite her pain, she hasn’t changed her desire to be free and is constantly on the hunt for more. (And I love that Shigaraki respects all of that and says yeah I don’t need to lock in more. He never needed to lock in even though he had completely suppressed Tenko Shimura already and his transformation was underway) Toga has had so much ripped away and you feel BAD after creating the conditions for this to occur? Pity can’t solve anything. And if it’s not, I’m your passion project to fix. And I DON’T need or want to be fixed, and I don’t want to be locked up, or put down for not fitting into your rules. But Ochako STILL doesn’t back down. She’s singled out the true Toga and now has her in a position she can’t truly go back into the monster below. She’s not here to hurt you even though so many threaten that on Toga and it would be EASIER to do so. I’m here to see you. Because I care that you’re in pain. Not externally, but you’re in AGONY internally. And the only way to stop ANY of this is to reach for that pain. For all our sakes and for you. I don’t just fight. I rescue. And you need to be rescued from your pain. Maybe it’s my ego but that doesn’t change I have a person I want to strive to be same as you. JUST me. Toga gets angrier the closer she gets. Ochako takes responsibility for her feelings of Toga in the past. I feared you and was scared we even had anything in common. You don’t enjoy being evil and deep down you want everything we have without it being taken away. And when you’re happy…it’s so relieving to you because you don’t get to experience what we have often. You don’t get to connect with others often, so when it happens it gives you EVEN more relief and comfort than it gives others because you’ve gone so long without it. When you break through the opposition in your life it gives you MORE freedom than it gives us. And these feelings that you want unrestricted are the same ones WE want. There’s no shame in love and having the ability to express it openly IS to be admired and requires a courage most lack. Having the freedom to be so honest with yourself takes an immense courage. And most of us don’t get to build that honesty with ourselves OR others but we want to. And with the full unrestrained honesty and love that Ochako has had and has restricted for others sakes, she wants to direct it at the person who so DESPERATELY wants it the same way. And Ochako has the knowledge to use it for the exact way that Himiko needs. You want to not feel abandoned? You need a family. One that sticks together no matter what. Well I can be a sister. You want blood? Well I have it and technically there’s nothing wrong with asking. Let’s meet in the middle. And I’ll lift ALL of the burdens you have that I can manage. We get the full evolution of Gravity Control. The one and ONLY THING in this ENTIRE conflict I called correctly was the full spread of her gravity rules and what I’ve set up LITERALLY from season 1. It works EXACTLY like a gigantic atmosphere and it’s based on vertigo, not weight. None of her MANY gravity rules we’ve gone over in the past are not applicable and she has the CHOICE to bring the whole house down by intensifying gravity, spiral everything out of control by changing gravity’s natural direction, force a gravitational pull, but she does NONE of those by CHOICE. She wants to reach out as naturally as she can by lifting everyone up because she has no desire to control the situation, JUST provide relief. And THIS is the variation of her quirk that I’ve called the 3rd most powerful quirk in the show, and in my opinion makes her 2nd only to the OFA and AFO users with these options, these choices, and abilities. And it’s all from the strength of her character. EVERY single observation I made of her gravity breaking rules was applied and came together across the show. This is the most genuine offer she can manage while being realistic. Tells her yeah you’re a murderer and we can’t make your crimes go away. But I WON’T leave you alone. I WON’T let you wallow in suffering that you’ve had your entire life. I’ll accept it to be there for you. You can’t fight this, you can’t run from this, so I’ll tell you about the love I have. The love you want to receive and I’m bringing EVERYTHING I have. I love my parents and wanted to lift their burdens for being poor and wanting. I saw others need for saving and decided to be a hero. So I could help as many as I could. And then I met the man with more love in his heart than ANYONE I’ve met in my life who showed me how to be more earnest, more loving, more caring, and never ran away from who he is and I fell in love with Izuku Midoriya for the most love in the world. And I wanted to build every part I had in kind. Same as you. You have all this love in you so where is it? Where’s your pain so we can unblock it? WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND?! EVERY LAST BIT OF YOU? And in Himiko’s screeching agony to close the door? It won’t shut. She found what she was looking for. Someone to cry to, someone to communicate with, someone to see her. And she can’t kill Ochako. Her confusion, her anger, it’s subsided because Ochako confronted the monster, and it’s a lonely 17 year old girl who has no family, and hasn’t been allowed to mourn, be happy, or be anything. And this allows her to have all these things. And just like Ochako promised, she lifted her pain, all to let her be her true self. She lost her family, both her blood relation and her honest family of choice and she found Ochako Uraraka. A sister who has as much love as she does. And she can’t replace what was lost, but it’s something entirely new she’s always needed. Twice is gone. But she can’t lean on what’s not there. So she can lean on what is. Next time, the finale and 3rd climax of season 7.

I think Toga's tragedy becomes easier to understand the more you mentality differs from the norm. A lot of people feel it's hard to show themselves to the world, and build up a facade to protect their 'inner selves'. In fact I'd say the kind of person who never feels a need to do that is rarer than anything else. But it's something completely different to have a part of yourself that the world objectively sees as 'wrong', a part you wear on the surface every day and can never truly hide. I want to clarify, I'm a straight white male adult who grew up profoundly upper middle class in the UK. I could write a book of privileged, so I want to make absolutely clear this isn't an argument from any kind of an oppressed group. But I can't help but cry every single time I watch this episode, whether it's seeing someone react to it or re-watching the episode in it's entirety (it's one of the few episodes of the show I will consistently be willing to do that for). I've spent my entire life constantly wondering why the things I say or do are considered so strange by people around me. I've been told more times than I can count that the way I think is everything from odd to freakish, because the connections I draw between things have never fit societal norms. I don't have a word for it, and I don't know why it is... if I did it'd probably become somewhat easier to deal with, but 'being myself' with other people has never failed to at best make conversation difficult. For the longest time I found it nearly impossible to understand why people do the things they do, say the things they say. As a result when I was a teenager, I spent almost all my time trying to be somebody else... idolizing people I cared about because they were so charismatic and able to connect with others and trying to be like them. I made myself miserable and almost always failed, because I couldn't stop seeing things the way I did, or truly understand how other people saw the world. As an adult, I've lived long enough to understand that there is no reason behind why most people do the things they do, and despite appearances what I saw as 'normal' was for the most part people just putting up better acts to fit in that I could. But it breaks my heart to know, even now, kids are growing up consumed by the idea that they're 'not normal' when normal is just a construct people use to make the world easier for them... regardless of how impossibly hard it makes it for anyone who can't fit that rigid definition. My best friend I've known since I was 15 is Bi, and couldn't tell me until a few years ago because of the stigma he received as a kid. He kept it secret for the longest time, not because of anything to do with me, but purely because he'd learned so early how alien that concept was to all sorts of people, because it didn't fit 'the norm'. Toga Himiko didn't hate 'the world' the way the rest of the League of Villains had grown to over time. She simply wanted to stop hating herself; to accept herself for who she was. This is why her personality is so all over the place throughout the show, because Himiko is less defined by any principles and more the concept of being free from restriction. Her personality was demanded to be so repressed for so long, that after leaving home she refused to be bound by any convention and just act on her own basic desires. Because there was no place for her anywhere else, because everybody would consider her a 'freak'. So despite Toga repeatedly asking not to be pitied, demanding her story wasn't a tragedy and that she chose the life she went on to live... it IS a tragedy. Because to be human is to want to belong; to a family, to a tribe, to a culture. Because to belong to something outside of yourself is to be understood and accepted, and Toga truly believed the only place she could find that was with a League of killers. People look at Uraraka and many fans as insane for 'forgiving' Toga for her crimes, but forgiveness has nothing to do with it. It's not about whether Toga deserves to be held to justice for the lives she's taken or not, it's more about seeing honestly how much Toga's environment went on to create her. It's about putting yourself in her shoes and asking yourself, honestly, if you'd act differently? This is hard for a lot of people to do, because the concept of showing affection as 'drinking blood' is about as far from the 'norm' as you can get. But the important thing is to ask people to face such a taboo and really consider, is that fact itself WRONG? Simply saying, "it's icky" is not a philosophical argument, but that has been the argument used (though often dressed in pretty clothing) for many forms of persecution the world over. If Toga had never hurt anyone as she claims, and was simply born with a strange fetish... would that make her as a person... defective? Deviant? In need of correction? It's easy to say 'be yourself' when you're someone mostly comfortable with that self, who aknowledges that most of themselves is pleasant to look at to most people in the light of day. But if you're a Dom who sits on the Sadism side of SnM, it'd be quite hard to talk about in a lot of social circles. We know from experience in our society there are plenty of Subs in that community, as there is a community designed around this fetish with many rules and regulations so both sides can have an enjoyable experience, but I'd still wager for a lot of people that sort of a kink would be considered an 'ick'. In the world of MHA, Quirks are almost always unique. We've seen no other characters with a similar quirk to Toga, so there's no community out there to accept her. To make matters worse, the society embraces a concept of 'quirk counceling' which is nominally there to help children fit in with others, but actually exists to suppress any nasty habits related to any given quirk that could cause trouble in society. Toga (before joining the League) would be seen as an actual success of quirk counselling. The way her fall was reported in the media made a big point of saying what a shock it was, for a normal teenage girl to turn deviant. Bakugo somehow got to high school with the personality of a chipotle enema, and spent most of his time in the series suffering because nobody found a way to show him how much he was hurting both those around him and his own future by acting out a bizarre power fantasy based on his quirk.

Where was I going with this insane essay of a youtube comment? Well I suppose I should make some sort of a conclusion. Toga's story hits wildly differently depending on the person, because if someone has either experienced the effects of an irrational social 'ick' themselves or been close to someone else going through the experience, her tale becomes a deathly serious commentary on how we treat people who display different desires in reality as 'freakish' and demand they repress themselves so we don't have to see them. We ask them to fit into boxes they were never designed to fit into, and blame them when they end up exploding out of them in various ways. As someone who never felt like he fitted in and was lucky enough to find just a few people who were willing to take a second and 'have a chat about romance' so to speak, I can't tell you how lucky I feel that I had my own 'Uraraka' in my life. I won't name him here, but he saved my life and showed me I didn't have to be alone and that despite how isolated I could feel, I could be a good person without changing who I was. I'll repeat it here, but a common analysis of Toga is to recognize that with a different family and treated differently by society, Toga could've been an incredible hero. Her quirk means she can become anyone, which means if and when she were to give blood she could become the ultimate unversal doner. That doesn't even go into her ability to go undercover with her ability to become anybody she liked. It's possible to make the argument that wouldn't fit Toga's personality, but considering her love of many heroes and her general tendency to love others TOO MUCH, I think it's a totally reasonable argument to make. So we should all be careful how we treat people who have something that makes us go 'ick'. That reaction itself isn't immoral or cruel (it's actually a biological impulse we can't really avoid), but we need to change our association with what it means. The idea of being with another guy holds no interest for me whatsoever for instance, as does any kind of S from the SnM spectrum (in fact the idea of causing pain even a little actively makes me feel nautious), but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be places for people who DO feel that way to feel a sense of belonging and community. I'm actually friends with a lot of people who have completely different fetishes and ways of thinking about the world than I do, and despite not really wanting to hear any gory details, the ways they think differently about the world enrich my life more than I can say here. So if you're someone who finds it hard to empathize with Toga here (because she really is the litmus for how much you CAN empathise with the 'ick') it's worth thinking for a second about how easy/hard it would be to live with that kind of stigma every day. Maybe you even have, but find it hard to see it in other people. That's not 'wrong' per se, but the world becomes a better place the more accepting people are of people they don't fully understand, and how willing they are to defend their rights as much as you defend your own. And if there's anyone out there who felt like me, or my best friend or Toga... I just want you to know, no matter how alone you feel, I love you. I may not know you, or understand you, but I love that the world is a wide enough place that someone as unique as you exists in it. But what I love even more than THAT is that the world is also a wide enough place for you to have a spot just for you, exactly as you are. Be kind, respect others but don't ever change who you are or what you love for anybody else. I met people who accepted me for who I am, you will too. Keep walking.

I really wish that Togas character clicked with Kenny and Montana more. the villains of my hero are by far the most well explored - chapter 395, ‘built upon the joy of others’ and the whole storyline of toga and ochoco is just so beautiful and my favorite in the whole series along with the todoroki family story. Toga represents so much - I bet her character would have been a huge pillar of queer representation if this show had come out earlier. The struggles she faced and the things she feels are expertly written. I feel like sometimes you two miss that, the first thing expressed in the episode by you guys is ‘no you don’t love deku wtf?’ which feels like a massive misunderstanding of her character, her motivations, and a disservice to who she is- it sounds like something the characters in the show would tell her. overall it feels like you guys struggle to recognize ochoco and toga as characters outside of surface level and their relations to deku which is a shame since the whole point of their characters is to grow away from deku and realize their love for him (especially in togas case) was a symbol of something far different

Oh my god, thank you for expressing it, I thought it would sound rude if I wrote a second comment about this but it bothered me so much that instead of listening carefully to what Toga and Ochako were saying, they immediately linked it to Deku, making that whole conversation not as valuable as it would have been if they had listened well. Also what you wrote about Toga being a queer representation really gets to me, I think maybe they didn't quite understand how it could have been but if you think about it it makes a lot of sense. Toga who has this very unique quirk and likes people in general was judged as not normal, an abomination, a freak. And there are definitely places where queer people in general would be judged that way. My last hope for them to understand Toga's character is in the next episode. But if even that doesn't get them and they tie it all back to Deku I don't think they understood any of this plot.

@@zadejames6269I just watched it, and while it's a good point about ADHD and linking it to how his quirk might be easier for Toga later on, I think they still have a long way to go to understand Toga well. Also I got a bit of a chuckle out of hearing Kenny saying that Toga sees Ochako as her best friend when she said just a few minutes ago that she liked girls too. But well, we'll have to see in the next episode what they thought of everything that happens. I still like them as youtubers anyway.

The 2nd of the big 3 in season 7. And unironically, this WOULD be my favorite purely from not just being the most unexpected of them all and requiring a whole new line of research and finding a whole WELL I just had NO idea was there but wasn’t just present but had been drastically impacting the story across the board. Ever since this happened in the manga I made it my goal to call out so much more of Uraraka’s story as much as possible and look at Toga much closer. Both of which earned a MASSIVE amount of respect for what they offered. (2 parter today for the fight phases as Uraraka closes in on Toga’s true self) Yeah that giant display from Touya last time was EXTREMELY visible from the Toga field and we get her flashback scene with Touya burning her house down to free her of her past. And he said let’s laugh. She just hopes he got to on his end despite the giant ice snow globe implies he lost and her 1st assumption is he died. All the while her Sad Man’s Death parade bolsters her to get a good look while holding down the heroes. And Uraraka spots Toga amongst the chaos only one would truly care to look. Even though this parade is no longer a parade. It’s a monster. A monster that reaches, it swallows, it’s ALIVE. Which is probably not the ideal way to describe an endlessly multiplying army of a knife wielding serial killer. The ONLY obstacle in the multiplication is honestly Pixie-Bob’s earthflow but there’s copying on MANY fields so that’s simply not going to cut it. But thankfully there ARE a few caveats. Getting crushed by the Twice’s is difficult due to their sludge substance making them more akin to a body of water. Which CAN crush people but there’s also no air getting removed because we aren’t underwater and the doubles don’t really have lungs. And because of the sheer quantity, there’s only so many on top of you before there’s no weight contribution. And since these people can often tank building sized explosions with no injuries, that really won’t be doing much but restrict their movement. (Shishido isn’t even getting pushed over! He’s the #12 hero but I was NOT ready for him to just be STANDING and since he’s close to Toga, those are the more durable ones too) Not that it doesn’t wear them down and they ARE able to be pulled apart and each double is armed and the REAL Toga is a pretty high % of Deku’s OFA at the 75% level. So it’s a give and take. Not instant death, but still INCREDIBLY dangerous. I’d almost say that the heroes further out are in MORE danger because the further out you are, the copies there are. Like Hawks, the Todoroki’s, and Iida because the doubles out THERE are reaching into so many higher numbers. At this point I’m pretty confident we’ve passed the billions marker by a SUBSTANTIAL amount. You only need 30 SECONDS to pass that. Ochako takes an unusual approach to communicating with Toga once she breaks out of the mountain. While the other quirks getting accessed by double would be CATASTROPHIC, she not only tells Toga her speculations in a specific way so she understands what she’s missing, but to more relieve her pain because she’s thinking her love isn’t good enough. Toga is more upset that Ochako is daring to try and understand. Especially when she didn’t when she actively gave Ochako the chance. And I also have to bring up that it’s a risk that she might be able to deal with because the more affection she feels to use those quirks, she can’t get power out of the quirks themselves. Decay is based on hatred, AFO is based on selfishness, and Cremation/Ice Fire is a constant balancing act and is so strong now that maxing out might just destroy the clone USING the power considering Touya last episode. Something Toga can’t handle on ANY front even if she successfully gets to the affection threshold she needs because we already know FROM this that hatred and love don’t mix, love is almost always selfless unreciprocated or otherwise, and Toga is NOT balanced. And even then, one of Toga’s ACTUAL issues as of now is one of her foundations as a person has been cracked and she might not understand love at ALL because her emotions are in complete and total conflict with each other practically at all times. Ochako knows there’s an incredible pain lying deep within Toga and that because of her hatred and love not mixing, and her obsession confusing her, Ochako keeps diving in more and more to see what is truly there. She’s masking her true emotions and pain whether she knows it or not. Even under high stress, even under the threat of death CONSTANTLY, and attacking a mask will often only become more painful, uncovering that mask is the best way out of this mess. She’s not ignoring her friends or ANY of the pain around her, but she can’t take her eyes off Toga as the only way to get through to her is by complete and total focus on her. She’s getting more advanced with her growing empathy and new empath abilities. With Ochako getting near the root of Toga’s honestly genuine desire for affection we get more of her past as well. It’s so easy to say Toga didn’t get help or was beyond it, but there’s genuinely a LOT missing in Toga’s “help.” Don’t just assume your child is just supposed to know something is wrong because it’s obvious, but give them full explanations too. Toga was not getting helped how to cope, how to separate feelings, how to apply feelings, or ANYTHING that would be useful, but to completely purge an urge that she ties closely to love when it’s what she wants more than ANYTHING. There’s GENUINE confusion and you have to have these talks not just what is love, but also why is murder wrong. Why is sucking blood wrong. Why these incredibly strange urges that are tied to who she is conflict and they CAN coexist because her quirk and draw to use it force this divide. But do the parents even try to have these talks? No. Does the help explore what’s going on? No. It’s just written off as strong quirk means strong correction to be like everyone else when she’s NOT. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to apply and cope with that. But she certainly didn’t get it. And it doesn’t help that Schizophrenia which is Toga’s main mental illness even over her Reinfield’s syndrome has a LOT of misinformation and misunderstandings in its depiction in media. Schizophrenia with its hallucinations, delusions, disorganized behavior, can seem random and you keep coming across conflicting emotions and actions in their mood shifts, but because of their full belief in them, that can cause people’s distancing over their need and what is likely lifelong care to counteract it. And since Toga is likely undiagnosed, yeah that’s a BIG problem. But Ochako’s approach is managing to balance what’s true and where her confusions lie. And how does she identify her circumstances.

I think people misinterpreted what Toga means by “love”. She “loves” people like Uravity, twice, shigeraki, and so on, but to me when I got to the end of this I can tell that it’s not specifically a romantic love, the only one she actually has a romantic interest for is Deku. Love itself comes in many different forms, it isn’t specifically always romantic as obviously you can love your friends and family. She just shows her love In a different way from a normal human

The situation with Toga is very complex and I appreciate that. You can understand her side but it's not hard to see why people would be freaked out about her obession either. That does'nt mean I agree with shaming her as a child because that was'nt the right answer either, in the end that's how she was born and she did'nt have the mental skills needed to sort through it on her own. That said she's still in control of her own actions and no one forced her to kill innocent people.

Toga is such an interesting character study. I wonder what would have happened if Himiko was ever tuored by Sekijiro Kan, a.k.a. Vlad King, the Class 1-A homeroom teacher. He has the quirk Blood control, which enabled him to freely manipulate, and even harden his own blood. He probably faced the stigma surrounding blood related quirks, so I wonder if he had met Toga at the right time, if he could have possibly enabled her to live with society's expectations while finding a suitable outlet or place for her quirk.

@@mray4784 I have excuses for all three of those (even though they’ve technically had more interactions like in the licensing exam and chisaki raid). In S3 she didn’t know who any of the students were and was just trying to get at least one person’s blood, which happened to be Ochaco. The next time which I presume you mean is S6 Toga is extremely angry and emotional after watching the person she’s closest with, one of if not the only person to ever show her affection up to that point, literally melt in her arms at the direct cause of the “heroes.” Even then when Ochaco gives her answer on how she would deal with Toga, and it’s the answer Toga definitely didn’t want, she doesn’t lash out and try to kill her, she just leaves. Then in S7 there’s still some grief about Twice, but it’s also just a want to help the only people she’s ever connected with, the league. And while she does end up stabbing Ochaco in her attempts to talk, the second Ochaco shows she truly cares, by saying “I’ll give you as much blood as you want!” And some other things, she can’t bring herself to attack Ochaco, in fact in the next episode she sacrifices herself for Ochaco. And then obviously there is romantic tension between the two as it’s pretty obvious when Toga likes someone and it seems to me that Ochaco cares the most about her and maybe vise versa (plus the two of them and Deku can become a throuple so everyone’s happy)

The thing is, Toga didn't have to turn out this way. There was an alternate route for her. Had her parents simply accepted her and tried to find ways, creative outlets for her to express herself, she could've been a relatively accepted girl. Still would've been seen as creepy, but wouldn't have been so shunned or despised. She didn't have to turn to killing. Blood could be spilled without wanton murder. But her mind became warped and twisted. Notice how, as a child, she never actually harmed anyone directly. It was only after years of neglect did she become violent. Himiko Toga may be one of the most tragic figures alongside Dabi and Shigaraki who could've easily been saved early on had even just one thing on their paths in life been altered. Once again, it's always parents who are the primary blame in any situation for how a child turns out. And this poor girl suffered just because no one accepted her and taught her that what she was doing wasn't wrong, just abnormal. Anyway, on a less serious note, she would've been ADORED by the Addams Family, even Wednesday would've really liked her.

Im sorry guys, i understand why u watch it dubbed but, in this case, like many others, the original voice acting in japanese is incredibly superior, the way they deliver (19:41) these emotions and feelings through their voices and emotion, in original audio is way more impresive although you dont understand a single word, the expression of every sentence and word is made in a way you really could feel how everyone is doing, what are they feeling, like they were real and there. I dont know maybe its me, but i feel it cheap. I dont wanna desprestige the role of dub actors and actress, nor this ones specifically, and i truly love and support their work and all the industry that are behind them, i appreciate their entusiasm and hard work to make this happen. All this being said, ive said that i feel it cheap just because the comparisons are odious, and the Original voices actresses made an impecable work here, and transmitted all the weight of this final clash between two of our main protagonists and yet still transmited much more these platonical impossible love between them.
