You missed something Sir. You didn't tell a fact about the String class. Read it carefully: I'm going to explain it after going through the definition of the equals() method in the String class. I found, this equals() method doesn't compare only the contents of the given String objects but it compares both the references and the contents of the two objects. First, it compares the references of both the objects using the == operator, if the references are found same then it simply returns true and no further computations are done. But if the references are found different then it doesn't directly return false but further it does some computations: It copies the contents of both the String objects into two different character arrays and then it compares the contents of both the arrays, if the contents are found same then it returns true and if the contents are also found different then it finally returns false. This is the complete fact/story of the equals() method of the String class.

if string equals() will compare both content and reference then output of second line sop(s1.equals(s2)) will be false but it is true so basically it will compare content only in case of String object because it is overridden method and i think you know what is overriding we defines our own implementation according to our requirement

How it actually works is It first checks if both the objects are of type String. Then it checks if both the objects have same length. Then it checks both the string by every character.
