Getting a force feedback wheel was the best thing I’ve done for my enjoyment of driving games. I’ve been loving my G293 for months and while I don’t think it’s massively improved my lap times, it’s definitely made me enjoy racing far more. Especially on AC online cruising servers on L.A Canyons. Chill driving in long winding roads is so great with a FFB wheel. It’s just a shame my laptop monitor is only 15 inches.

I like your channel because you express your desire for high end gear but cant afford it, like all of us. Even though you'll get ur hands on a csl DD before almost all of us it gives ur channel ALOT of relatability. Also i have found a ffb wheel detracts from the driving experience in forza (over xbox controller) and most certainly the crew, not sure about GT tho

Ngl bro I have no clue, I just got a g29 and I don’t even see a clue of use after a week, but if it’s super cheap or used I wouldn’t expect it to last really good for longer than a few years, but if you take good care of it than it should last you a very long time

New to the racing sim world but my main concern is that I'm damaging the motor if I'm fighting the ffb. For instance, if it's a hard right hand turn, the wheel's ffb will start to turn it left. But I'm holding the right hand turn in order to make the turn and I'm fighting the wheel when it wants to go left. Is this damaging the motor? Sorry if this is confusing

I’d love a Thrustmaster T300 with the shifter and peddles but it’s very pricy and I’m not sure if it’s because of the pandemic or if people are just getting into wheels. Personally, after getting my G920 and testing it in wreakfest, force feedback is incredibly annoying, ive grown up playing arcade racers and never got much into simulation. When trying it for the first time, having the wheel fight against me when turning and trying to stabilise it on straight roads usually ended up in crashing. When i turn the wheel i want it to react with me not against me. I even tried force feedback at around 3 to 10 percent, and even then the car in game just felt like a pain to drive.

I have just one criticism. The type of drivetrain the wheelbase uses has NOTHING to do with how powerful it is. Gear driven can be just as powerful as a 20Nm if you want it to. The reason they aren't is due to the super low cost of putting them together & then selling mass market just like Logitech does it. Same goes for belt drive or even hybrid drive. There is literally nothing stopping you from slapping one or two motors together to create a ridiculously powerful wheelbase with belts, so having people say that power a wheelbase can put out is due to the drivetrain it uses it just plainly misleading. It's like saying that a car doesn't reach 300km/h because the rims are scratched.

The advantage of belts and gears is that you can assemble one with a smaller, cheaper motor which is usually the biggest upfront cost in manufacturing besides the control logic. If you do decide to run a belt at the torque of a direct drive however, you can expect reliability problems and if you choose a gear, the noise will quickly become unbearable and those 2 are the limiting factors to what torque you can run (or rather, how much power you can transfer). Reliability wise, if you assume the possible points of failure are accounted for you can use better, lower tolerance gears or thicker belts to solve aforementioned problems, but direct drive also has less points of failure and has no such issue.

Even though the V9 comes back to center because of the springs, the pedals feel clunky in-game and the have to pair to phone so I can get to use it gets old quick. Edit: unless its just for Euro Truck Sim or its american cousin, probably go a step up. If you are super super super chill, like you dont mind being mid to last place to avoid spinning out, go for it.

I remember when I tried creating a force feedback steering wheel because it was for me too much of an investment. It did not went well since it is a software mess, and when I talked with my uncle about what I was up to he told literally this: "I got a steering wheel, you want that?" I didn't knew what to expect, so I said yes. It came back a day later with an old Logitech Momo, look up the steering wheel if you don't know what it is. It's a 240° steering wheel, but it has force feedback and it's software is still published by the same Logitech. I love that steering wheel.

You don't need any. The only reason you would/could need gloves is for alcantara rims because they wear down quickly when you're using them with bare hands due to alcantara soaking up all the sweat from your hands

no, it's better to use a controller than a wheel without ffb... trust me, moving the car with your thumb vs your two hands require more information about how the car handle turn, if there's no resistance in the wheel, you'll have high chance of oversteering all the time

No. Vibration and force feedback are completely different things. Vibration is mostly just for.... "immersion" but won't help you on track.

the T150 FF is about 2-4 lbs, maybe less, If you play F1 it is fine, but get the pro version, better pedals. The T150 is fine for most if not all racing sims/games.
