I love what Gilda says on the fluidity of personality “type.”

does Gilda have her own youtube? I really connect with her thinking/feeling.

I suspect what Gilda is doing there is bringing her 60-70s feminism to personality. Its a postion that doesn't allow one to make statements like "you're mostly X personality." Instead we have to say "we're all equally everything." As such she destroys the predictive ability of personality models. Its not a good postion.

I disagree, I don't feel like I need their other persons permission! I look at the energy how their significant, or other person feels about them and intentions. If customer comes to reading, needing insight, I give them what they need to know. I have and get reasonably good insights and accuracy. it usually makes sense to the querent. But I do say this is a reading of the current energy, things can change, and tarot is not always accurate. I wouldn't say if they are calling you, seeing you a couple times a week, it sounds good! I'm a tarot reader, not a counselor. Tarot is about looking at the energies, and the possibilities and road blocks blocks!

I have a deck in which the Fool is actually called the Holy Fool - which relates very much to this “fool” figure of the times when Tarot was created - the divine madman, who seeks divine connection and exists in the moment, relying completely on divine providence for survival, outside of normal society. He seems the fool, the lunatic to others, but the Holy Fool is something else altogether. So depending on the question and client, it could be “carefree” or spontaneous, but in other situations or contexts it could mean something more akin to setting aside the “normal” world and allowing divine inspiration to take the lead. The Strider/Aragorn comparison is great - love it. Something in disguise. Shapeshifting ❤

I hate to say it ... but I feel that divination is not a sharing experience. I get that there is always a wider viewpoint, but I'm not sure that it is anything that my cards care about. I think we are in sync (my divination systems and I) and the confusion that comes from hearing other people's methods of interpretation is nothing but noise [for me anyway]. But I do love listening to you all. xxx

Yes that's a great idea!! I will post it on FaceBook and mention it on my next KZbin. I forgot we did that last year. Also wanted to tell you I felt bad I didn't ask you about how your Fair went at our last meeting. I wanted to ask you about that but forgot. Plan on me bringing it up in our next meeting. I will figure out a day near Halloween for our Bash and keep you posted in the next few days. Talk soon!

Really mad at myself for missing this live 🤦‍♀️ thanks for posting these recordings Vince - they’re fantastic. Plus I could listen to your voice for hours 😅 Just got up to the personality types. Rational personalities - Marcus Aurelius, Margaret Thatcher 😅 I took a similar test the other day - my dominant was the idealist, and it’s still part of me, but as I’ve grown older, I’m definitely more comfortable expressing as both rational and artisan - it varies. Maybe we grow into ourselves? Or grow in other directions. I have a question regarding the earlier conversation about having clients express fears - particularly fears caused by religious beliefs. One lady (sorry - didn’t catch the name) mentioned “spirit guides” which I would have thought might actually make it worse? The whole spirits thing - or do you try to put an “angelic” slant on that? My main question is for Vincent though - if you don’t subscribe to the notion of spirit guides influencing which cards are drawn , and I don’t believe in spirit guides, how do you put religion-inspired fears to rest with a client? Do you have any tips for wording things in a way that leaves out those kind of supernatural influences? Many thanks!

I'm only 13 minutes in to the video this month and, although I usual agree [pretty much] with what is said, I really am at odds with the comments regarding responding as a reader to questions which are personal, involve others and somewhat involve the reader putting themselves on the line. Surely, if a divination discipline is worth its salt, it should be able to accurately answer the most common of questions ? IMHO, to answer a question with "I don't answer these kind of questions (i.e. health, love interests, up-coming results etc) should make the querent ponder as to why the heck would they bother paying for the service ?

We read cards, not minds. I'm sure if someone wanted to find a person in the business of "reading minds" they would be able to find one elsewhere but that's not what a card reading is. If you want to get paranormal with it, I offer you a quote from Gerd Ziegler's "Tarot Mirror of the Soul" Surprisingly, we learn to accept and love ourselves only when we stop trying to hide, and hide from, our inner reality. We can only share with others those parts of ourselves which we had discovered and accepted, and can only change those unpleasant aspects in ourselves which we have thoroughly examined, and recognized as needing change. If the person has not thoroughly examined their situation involving another person, or thoroughly examined their health via a doctor, a legal matter via a lawyer, the cards will not answer them thoroughly either. Without the other person being there to even examine, without their consent, what are you even pulling information from?

Hi @jackofnights, thanks for taking the time to reply. That's exactly my point, the cards should be able to provide an answer to any question. As I see it, they are tapped into the universal truth. If the card reader is reluctant to put themselves on the line, that surely suggests that the reader fears the cards being wrong in certain (admittedly sensitive) cases. I fully appreciate Vincent's point about not wanting to get sued, but that shouldn't effect the card's ability to be accurate.

I have heard it said before and I tend to agree. The cards are always right. That doesn't mean the reader is going to be right 100% of the time though. There are countless interpretations of every card. We are still human, and the type of answer you get is going to mirror the type of question you ask. Ask a general question like "what are they thinking about me right now?" and you assume them to even be thinking about you at that time. That comes across to me as someone not wanting to take a look at things they would feel uncomfortable seeing. It's best to stay away from those kinds of clients in my opinion. I am not out to tell anyone, simply what they are seeking to hear.

Absolutely. The vulnerability of a potential client is maybe something to be ascertained prior to their reading. Again, the cards should know. What a refreshing change it would be if a reader was to say I have consulted the cards and they say that I'm not the best reader for you ? I think there is too much of a highlight on becoming a professional reader, in the sense of taking money for reading. It's a bit like mediumship, ghost hunting etc. The more that the service costs, the greater the pressure to get results. I'm much more happy in my little bubble, with friends and family who understand my down to earth method of reading (I don't stray from the Marseiile). I don't feel the need to impress them with initial intuitive declarations about the querent's life and they know that without a concise question they will get flabby answers. They very often present me with an itemised list at the start. This way tends to lead to them being able to ask more questions within the allotted time. I'm not trying to cold read anyone, most of them I've known for decades. I see reading as a conversation between the querent and the cards, with me as the translator. There is a family rumour going around at the moment that we're all going to be getting together in the near future. There must be 60 of us spread throughout the UK. We have a mixture of skills, ranging from full blown skeptics, through caster/readers to some with very powerful gifts. To my memory we've only got together 4 times in my life time and I remember my mother (now 40 yrs passed) holding court when I was very young, with my disapproving grandparents looking on as she did her Old Ma Melinda act for the family. ;-) Something to look forward too, especially with me and my cousins being the elders now ... he he he. @@Adam_Aster

There are boundaries. Also, some people are very sensitive and experience person inquiries without permission to be a psychic attack. I don't want to be that nosy person.
